Why are these things so expensive?! I have been trying to find a good quality tip for my 2006 Taco, but I simply refuse to pay $50 for a piece of rolled stainless. Anyone been able to find a good aftermarket tip that fits well?

I looked for some time before getting an OEM tip. I just couldn't find one I liked better. Got mine on ebay for about $36.00 if I remember correctly.

They are now $50-60 on Ebay. Ridiculous. Must be Sdealers.

I agree the price is way to much for a exhaust tip. $30 would be reasonable.

Darn, too late. Here is the description of the new version of the one I got from Amazon used:
    Product Description
Add style to your vehicle and say good bye to the dull unappealing stock exhaust tip. This aftermarket exhaust tip is made from stainless steel which will never chip or peel. It has gone through 5 stage polish process so the shine will never fade with easy regular maintained. The installation is also a breeze. Just slip the exhaust tip over the existing factory tip then screw down the bolt and that is it. Demenisions: Inlet: 2 29/32 inlet; Tip size: 3 5/8 inch; Lenght: 6 7/8 inches long This is an aftermarket product

The stock exhaust IS stainless, so I just polished the tip on mine. Looks great.

Do you mind posting/sending me a sound clip of that dumped over the the axle? I don't have a SS tip, but I plan on polishing up my existing one. ;)

Yep, I've got a kit that goes all the way up to 12000 grit. :D Wet sanding is the way to go. Its simple, and it does not have the "look what I stuck on my truck" look either.
