ok so i picked them up and there a tiny bit wider than the toyota ones, the u-bolts go on with some taps with the hammer but then they dont line up with the bolt holes on the lower shock mount what do you do?

If they aren't too far off, you can take a large set of channel locks or a c-clamp and squeeze the ends back together until you can get the plate on. Then it's just a matter of tightening the nuts down.

Ok so I just pulled the trigger on this one like a year later than I wanted to. Needless to say love the ride and firmness. Ill post up more pictures and a review once I wheel it a little more. Only questions to the peeps that have done this is will the springs settle a little as I'm riding a little higher than wanted in the rear. I used oem main and second spring and put 2 Chevy (mid 80's) under that.
    Options
1- put a 1/4-1/2 inch plate above my 5100/885(due to a 1/2 sag I developed over a year and get it to a decent rake.
2-the leafs settle a little and all is good.
3-change the leafs around-ie. take out the second Yota spring or only use 1 Chevy?

    Thoughts?

ive tried that i got them to go in but the they were so tight on the plate it wouldnt tighten down and settle on the axle, i think im just going to grind a little bit off right where the u-bolts sit just enough to make it easy to get them on ill post pics tomorrow

You can grind just enough off each side to let U bolts loop over, grind the springs as a pack & not seperately ( I know, but some have:D) This is not uncommon, I've used springs that fit exactly & some that need shaved a hair....

Wow, that sounds like they were pretty far off then.

Oops, Doug answered while I was posting a reply. Ignore me...what he said! :D

Yeah, I was going to suggest blending it really well to help with that, but I was just thinking that having the springs be narrower there, they would tend to flex more at that point than they would where they were wider, thus work-hardening at that point and eventually cracking, but Doug says it should be fine and I believe him.

BTW, Doug, how much difference, length-wise is the Ranger or Chevy S-10 main spring? Is it close enough that I could grind down the hanger end to fit in the front spring hanger and maybe just run a longer rear shackle to use them? Or are they too long/short to be even close?
