I'd take that exact setup! Probably $3k there though...

Here's the rough breakdown for that setup:

    $1,799 UCON-Flex EMS
    $??? URD Exhaust Cam Gears
    $110 URD 170 Thermostat
    $289 URD TCAI
    $489 URD Mk1 2x4 Y pipe
    $529 URD Mk2 Cat-Back
$50 URD 70mm Throttle Valve Adapter
    $485 DTLT Headers
    $??? Coupe Deep Oil Pan

$3,752 for just the parts I could find prices for plus whatever shipping and install costs. For that kinda coin, I'd almost rather go for the TRD S/C :notsure:

I'm gonna save $50+ a week for the SC kit and some long tube headers once I pay my dad off. Should be selling the Willys soon!

I'm out of warranty anyway, a new (to me) 2UZ-FE engine is only $2100 from LKQ (yeah, 4.7L V8!!!) in case I blow my engine or whatever haha

Which blower kit do you want, the TRD or the URD one?

Not even close to the same. Regear for whatever tire size you added but adding power is a separate issue :D

It's their TCAI. It actually pulls cold air haha

Or do what a 4Runner guy did. Route your intake into your cabin to make a cold air/internal snorkel combo

No sound on the work computer :(

I thought you had the same engine, the Tacoma blower won't work?

Not really in my opinion. If you feel like going that route though, get the 1st Generation TRD intake, the AFE Stage 2Si, the Volant or the URD true cold air intake (I would avoid the URD one if you off roading and mud). The MAF calibrator from URD pairs nicely with the intakes or stock. If you can find one cheap, go for it, I wouldn't spend $300 on one though, I don't think they're worth it.

Best CAI you can get for your Tacoma is a snorkel. They force cold air to the engine but might be a little overkill...

The blower will work on my engine, it's the interfacing I have issues with. Damn new engines and their technology

Plus I think the TRD is underpowered. They set it at a lower PSI than the URD blower

A pulley swap would take care of the PSI issue but the electronics you wouldn't really be able to get around unless URD's UCONN system can manage that also. There has to be a way around it because you see several people running custom turbo setups without issue, I'd imagine setting up for the TRD blower on the engine it's meant to run on wouldn't be terribly difficult. It might not put out as much as the URD setup, but it is around $1,500 less I believe.

If you're set on a CAI, that's a decent one and not a bad price although I don't think it's the answer to your problem. If your stock intake is clean and the filter is new, the CAI won't wake it up any and certainly won't fix anything if something is wrong. Go through and check all the basic stuff first, have you changed your spark plugs lately, air filter, MAF sensor, throttle body? If the engine is running perfect and you still just think it's sluggish, then start looking into performance parts and decide if you want more low end or high end power and go from there.

Checked too make sure your intake tract has no leaks/unmetered air getting to the engine? While it's running spray tb cleaner along the intake tract. If it bogs down then you have a leak/ somethings not sealed up right
