What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

got a new pair of leaf packs gonna install tomorrow

 

I need new leafs so bad. So bad. I want an alcan 8-10 leaf pack, but they won't email me back a price quote.

 

yeah mine on the truck now are bad. they are basically a straight line with a little negative arch. haha

 

What leafs did you get, factory ride height, brand, price if you dont mind? Mine are in same condition and really getting on my nerves.

 

I guarantee you, not nearly as bad as I do.

 

Maybe but mine are pretty negative for only having 65k miles on them. And a lot newer than yours.

 

You only have 65k on your truck? Or just the leafs?


Mine finally breathed a sigh of relief when I took the topper off for the second time ever, first time in 8 or 9 years... but they're still flat/negative with no weight on them.

65k on the truck. Stock leafs. They are done for. I already know a guy that might want the leafs anyway, so they are getting changed soon. Might just go with deavers if alcan never gets back to me. I haul steel, motorcycles, ect frequently so I need more support. And I just added a 125 lb rear bumper and rock sliders are getting made next week. Those will be another 100 lbs I suppose.

 

I don't know what's more shocking... the fact your truck has 65k on the odometer or that beast of a bumper you fabbed weighs 125 lbs

169,00 on mine, and hauled a boat its whole life.

 

The bumper has a hitch built into it too, and most hitches weigh 50+ lbs. Just the hitch and 3/8" mounting brackets on my bumper are probably 65 lbs. The factory hitch was 53 lbs when I sold mine.

That bumper is sold and I'll be fabbing another one next week.

Thanks man. I'm changing the fab process a little to make it faster and easier to weld and grind, so I want to test it out before I offer a group buy. I also slimmed it down 1.75" of the overall width.

 

I'll take some pics once I get mine in! But the only pics I've seen are on instagram & Facebook. His price is 1,400 but it includes the changing room which most don't that I'm aware of from searching.. It's not the cheapest tent but the options he gave me were pretty nice plus he has a few different color choices for the tent itself.. If you shoot him

I just bought the standard Dorman Leaf Pack. Im pretty sure its original ride height but it might lift it a little more considering my leafs are bad, and i bought them from a guy off CL for $150

Never had the opportunity to do any real water crossings till then. And never had to worry about hydro-lock before either...fortunately i had no problems.

 

I feel you on that one. I've got 232k on the original and mine are very negative while sitting. The funny thing is my rear is that bad but my front has sagged just as much since my truck sits level haha.

 

Send some of that my way! That would be nice to actually have water in the Arkansas river for once haha

 

If I had to guess, I'd say we've gotten around 20 some inches in the past month. Just ridiculous. But as with anytime in ND gotta expect the unexpected I guess. This is about as much as we get on average for 2 YEARS here.
