Valet Key??

What exactly does the valet key do? I've always had one, but never used them...

 

Same thing a regular key does, but it's a different color so as to tell key makers that they aren't supposed to copy it.

 

Some vehicles will limit speed or rpm with valet keys, so they're not off doing donuts or pulling a ferris bueler's day off on you.

 

Only works for door & ignition.

 

The grey Valet key can not be used to program a new duplicate key. You need the black master key to open the programing mode.
Other cars it wont allow a valet to open a glove box, or the trunk from outside.

 

What else is there on our trucks?

 

I use it hidden somewhere on my truck in case I misplace my regular set or while out some where. I'll give someone $100 if they can find it though

its in one of the holes in the aluminum support behind the front bumper. thats where i found my neighbors when i was looking at his truck before i bought mine...he didnt know it was there did i win?

My valet key has different notches than my regular key, which I think is odd since there is nothing else to open in the truck.

 

No need for $100, I'd have a whole truck.

I thought so. And I go diving, and to concerts etc, so it was a no brainer for me.
