Those islands make millions upon millions every year from their tourists, active nightlife, bars & clubs, parties, and similar. Police there are obviously not going to be too aggressive at enforcing simple noise ordinances. Same with landlords and their security. Heck, rather than losing a piece of that money, most landlords, for example, would probably rather see you (the troublemaker) go. Judges are going to weigh any noise complaint against the prevailing environment - can't reasonably expect total silence (or anything even close to that) in an apartment or active beach community.

I once lived in a similar situation (ocean beach community, apartment, etc) for several years and life was certainly different than what one might find at an isolated, back woods, residential community in Kansas. Rather than trying to change the whole community (not going to happen), I changed. For example, I purchased a noisy, but pleasant sounding, fan for the bedroom to help mask outside noises at night. Once I got used to that fan, slept pretty darn good afterwards. Addressed other problems in a similar manner (me, not them).

I had similar problems to this where I lived previously. It was close to work but the doggone upstairs neighbors would sit out on the balcony above my window and yak yak yak until the wee hours of the morning. Then sometimes they'd go inside and finish with some concerted efforts to expand the family.

I moved. Longer drive, but better sleep. Plus a lot lower crime rate. Literally everyone I know here owns at least one gun; heck, the apartment manager runs the local gun range. Maybe that's why it's so quiet? lol

Lasko fans are noisier than most and drown out lots of noise.

I live in an apartment and my neighbor has a ricer with a fart can. When he starts it up every morning, it wakes me up. Should I call the cops every day? It really effects my sleep cycle.

Technically that would be an off topic discussion.

OK so going back to the OP, (for the sake of keeping this epicness alive) As tigerfan said earlier, few apartments have on site security. Unless they are a rich community lol. I know this because I do patrols. We provide "24/7" security but are rarely on property. We have 4 units out across 3 counties and respond to calls only. Granted, this is a section 8 housing enforcement so the calls are not typical security calls like your situation, but still making my point. I drive around and hit several properties about 1-4 times each depending how busy we get. If I get a call for noise complaints at least 1-5 times a night, and 95% of the time the noise disturbance has ended by the time I arrive. If I get 3 calls at the same time, one for a noise complaint, one for people in casing vehicles, and another for a man with a gun, guess which call I'm going to last.... The noise complaint.

    Point is this.
    A) you live in apartments, noise is normal, so learn to live with it or move out
    B) you can't expect others to solve your problems for you. Security can't do anything if they arent made aware of the problem
    C) claiming ignorance to the phone number for security isn't an excuse. Be an adult and find the number.
    D) even if security is called, don't expect a response time of less than an hour. Just the way of life. Refer back to A.
    E) you are a troll
    F) grow up (even though your already legally grown up)
