The panels were made by Extreme Kreations. I did all the install including the cutting of the doors.

what pioneer headunit is that? i was also planning to put a monitor in but my only concern was sound quality, because i will be having components and subs with amps. How does your system sound? it looks really good....do those monitors have enough eq settings and stuff to get a decent custom sound? also, i have noticed that some of those dvd monitors only have 2 rca preouts--

This is the Pioneer AVIC-N1. I got it back when it first came out, installed it in a previous car then moved it to the truck. You get quite a bit of adjustment in the audio with this radio. Mine had the 4 channel RCA out as well as a seperate subwoofer RCA out. It really all depends which video headunit you get. The cheaper ones definently lack some control and options. Also like you said for an extreme audiophile you are better off with a McIntosh. I consider myself somewhat picky about sound and I am able to get my sound tweaked to where I want it with the head unit.

I got them during a group buy. I paid $375 plus shipping at the time which is a steal for these panels.

Thanks for the props guys I really enjoy the system. The sound deadening really helps as well. Although lately with gas prices I have been driving the other car. Let's just say its sound system leaves MUCH to be desired:(

i am not an extreme audiophile but i will be putting some expensive equipment in my car and would like it to sound its best. You seem to have a decent setup in there and you say that you really like the sound you are getting? I was looking at the avic-d3, so there probably isnt much change in sound quality comparing the two units....was also looking at the alpine w205. What sound options are available for your headunit? bass, treble, balance, fade, high and low crossovers, equalizers?? your help would be greatly appreciated

Yea the sound is just right for me. The bass is tight and quick which is perfect for the fast rock I listen to. The speakers are clear with no distortion even when turned up high. The AVIC gives a few options on sound adjustment. You get the standard fading, treble and bass levels, as well as subwoofer control. You also get adjustable equalizer curves, high/mid/low frequency control, subwoofer frequency control, SLA, HPF, LPF, and loudness selection.

Nice setup!! Just this morning I posted some pictures over here:

XDsm, how did your passenger side panel line up? I had a hell of a time getting the top front to attach to the stock door panel. The driver's side was a perfect fit, but that passenger was a PITA and never looked quite right.

In my case I'm pulling the whole thing apart again to recess the speakers so they'll fit with the cage, but for any normal Tacoma these things are killer! The sound is tight and they don't rattle at all!

No I don't remember having any particular issue with the passenger side. They were both a PITA lol Yea with the sound deadener it's nice and quiet back there:)
