Nova Scotia/Halifax Area Meet

No one was allowed off the bus due to liability and insurance reasons. None of the owners was there to talk too and they are at odds with each other. I think there is a court order in place protecting each others access routes form the other.

 

Well not too close. Right on the atlantic Ocean outside of halifax. Long trip but still fun

 

Aw, no way!! What kind of tour was that? Specifically for the island, or part of something larger?

You drive or are you able to take a ferry? I spent a summer tuna fishing somewhat close to Nova Scotia along George's Bank. Think it was a 6 hour ride back to Gloucester, just North of Boston.

 

Specifically for the island. I just picked up a new book on th island yesterday that has some interesting theories in it,

 

Ooo! Which one?? Should be finding out in the next 24 hours if I'll be heading there.

 

I like the drive and stop on ways up there. Then you have a car for up there as well

Didn't they once find a single gold link from a necklace in that pit? Certainly warrants the millions of dollars, thousands of man hours and human life that was lost.... idiots.

Did they? I'm beginning to study the island now. Just got official word I'm going there for the same reason. See you in a few weeks!

I picked it up in a small shop in Annapolis Royal on Sunday, Mike. I will check the rest if my books on the Island when I get home to see if I have the Darcy O'Connor one.

 

Aw, Peter, it's a Nova Scotia publisher, so that's why it would take a while to get to me. I just called them - same dealer as Amazon. Probably get here on the exact day I leave. lol Might just buy a Kindle to download it now... Thanks, again!

Not sure where we'll be just yet, but I'm guessing close to the island unless Halifax isn't too long of a drive. Flying in the 17th, prepping for a week, then we start! Trying to decide which Kindle to buy so I can purchase that book. lol You're definitely into that island, aren't you? You born/raised near there?

 

I was born in Southern NB. Joined the Air Force in 77 and have been in NS since 78. I plan on staying here.

 

Man I wouldnt mess around around oak island, can't go into too much detail, but you have been warned.

Lot's to see here, pick your poison. There are lots of historical things. Last weekend, I got to see a team of 7 women hand shearing a sheep, spinning the wool and knotting a sweater in one day. No electricity used for any of this, all by hand. There are festivals in most of the small towns with several each weekend. The NS tourist Bureau has all that stuff available if you contact them.

 

I am just joking man! I have never been to oak island, but I have known about the story a long time. I believe there was a pretty cool documentary on it on A&E back in the early 90's. When are you gonna be in town?

 

Aw, that actually sounds frickin' great! I love traveling and checking out new things! I need to start looking into the touristy side soon. Is NS known for any type of food? Just no seafood, please.

I spent last night watching every YouTube video on that place. Hey, if I become the 7th then that's not a bad way to go when people tell the story. First leg is flying out on the 17th for 3 weeks, back to l.a., then back to the island for 5 weeks.
