Well. My 22 years of accident free driving ended today. Long story short. Merge lane. Car in front of me started to merge and I looked back and they had stopped for some reason.

My fault. Following too close. Feel like shit for hitting someone. Sweet old lady. No one was hurt.

The only part I am really worried about is the larger gap on the right side of the hood. I believe it is because the fender twisted a bit. Here the key items.

    Headlights gone.
Font grill gone. (steel mesh is salvagable)
    Lower bumper destroyed (obvious)
    No paint damage.

What do you all figure the costs will be for the stock bumper replacement and to have it painted. It should be noted that some of the support steel for the bumper is also twisted up.

    Thanks.

Sorry to hear about the accident, you should try removing the fender or loosening it up and lining it back up. As for everything else, Tacomaworld and craigslist are great to buy stock parts. If you were local I'd have a cheap bumper for you.

Fender and hood are likely both tweaked. It'll be difficult to pull them back into proper form.

For parts, check Camelback, Titus-Will, or Toyota of Dallas. You may be able to get the bumper cover pre-painted.

Yeah prob needs new fender. That front lower lip has to be A100% or the light won't fit in place. Blend paint on door maybe hood. In NorCal, that would be about a 4 or $5,000 repair prob more.
Also your rt side baffle or rad support is mashed in. That's a welded on part. Might need a little pull on the frame machine.
    Hope I didn't scare you.

Looks like your bumper cover itself will be about $190 (plus brackets and paint).
Fender is around $230 (plus paint).
    Flare is another $210.
    Hood is $350.

These are discounted prices. List is 25-35% higher (list on the hood is $480)

I have it appraised on tuesday to get it all repaired. Not sure how it works but I was thinking if the costs of the new oem bumper parts and painting are more than an ARB might go the ARB route.

I dont think anything happened to the hood as the plastic hood protector did not break and it is plum on the drivers side. Opens and closes no problem. I assume the fender needt to be tweaked back as that is the part that seem too have bent.

Hood is really scratched but that is because of all the glass that landed on it. I am hoping a really good wax will get out about 60%.

I am just really glad the lady was not hurt. I will keep you all posted.

Appraiser is going to write up replacement for that fender.
It's rare that removable body panels are straightened anymore unless it is VERY minor... it's worth more than the cost to tie up the labor for that.
I had a shop replace my entire door for a small roll on the edge that I could have fixed in a half hour, or would have been willing to ignore.

This sucks. I really want to avoid having a title on the vehicle. I guess it should not matter as I can't see myself getting rid of it. Had it for 4 years and I seem to like it more every year. It is the first vehicle I have owned that as it gets older I am more fond of it. Freak in thing is like wine. Seems to get better with age.

Pisses me of. My new nfabs are in on Tuesday but now I have to wait until all this other crap is dealt with.

They shouldn't brand the title for minor accident repair.

Damage was worse than that on my '03 Tundra and it was never an issue.
Title branding only happens when a vehicle is totaled... too expensive to repair, so it's re-titled salvage, which makes it potentially difficult to insure and kills resale value.

Not sure how things are handled in Canada though.

Going to be close, but might skate under.
My '94 had similar damage and it was 3k, but that was 15 years ago.

Just noticed the gab on the passenger door is about 1-2mm less than the drivers door. I guess this must be because the fender was "pushed" back a bit.

Thanks for all the responses Rich.

Think you could elaborate a little? I am thinking a bit more than $1300 since the paint work alone after the body panel repairs would be in the $900-1000 range. Of course when it comes to body/paint work you get what you pay for.

Sucks. I cant stand looking at my truck right now. As soon as I get it back I need to take a day off to mod it back.

Get my top and lower grill back on.
    BHLM.

I tried so hard to not get in an accident since I got rear ended two years ago. Cant believe I hit someone.
