What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

I did this too, you just have to grind/dremel off a couple of the thicker plastic
Parts on the harness and then put it in where one of the license plate lights go.

 

Question of the day: what percent tint did you put on your front windows? I'm going to do this in the coming days and want to get it close to the back windows without applying tint to them as well.

 

Where your finger is touching the bolt I put a radiator hose clamp big enough to go around it. Stopped the shield from rattling. The bolt or screw was not doing anything - it had rusted thru.

 

I told my tint guy that I wanted matching, so he used 30%. It came out very close. The factory clear windows have a slight green tint to them. So the fronts look slightly dark green compared the the rear gray from inside. It's really not noticeable. And a great match on the outside.

 

Thanks. I know everyone has had different experiences with vibes. I've read where guys have had to remove shims and/or carrier bearing drop kits to get rid of the vibes they were fighting.
Or they did nothing at all and were fine.

It seems to me that something would need to be done because of the geometry change. Of course if I want to put my shims in now, it will be a project. I'll see what it feels like this week to and from work.

 

I used a 2" bi-metal holesaw and a dremel to notch out the square edge of the trailer harness. Added some heavy duty RTV sealant, and called it good.

I mounted it to the left of the license plate.

 

Finally tested out my Dakars. Packed 1200lb of sawdust like a champ. So much better than stock.

 

im on a 6+ month road trip and picked up this tool box for $100, put all my gear aside from clothes and dry food into the tool box opening up the inside of my truck.
have to remount the spare tire(its in the bed) so i can mount my cooler back down.

 

6 MONTH road trip? I can't stand to be in a car for more than a couple hours....wow! Safe travels!!

 

ha i try to limit my extended drives to no longer than 8hrs ha.
i have friends all over the country from my time in the Navy, so i pay them all visits ha. or i just find some public land and pitch a tent!

Taking the headliner down to push out a dent I put in it earlier while I was waxing the roof.

Got it aligned today after yesterday's lift. Everything went to spec easily. I gained an extra inch behind the front tires, for a total of 3". Now I'm ready for new shoes.
