Also, I wouldn't buy a full out intake without a tune. From what I've found in the FT86 club forums is that more people than not end up with idle and stalling issues with an aftermarket intake without the addition of an ECU tune. And even then, the power addition is marginal at best. Toyobaru did a very good job designing the factory intake. Looks like if you're going to touch anything on the intake without a tune, a HF drop-in filter and the Perrin inlet tube get you the best bang for the buck. YMMV

I've heard great things about them from others who have owned Subaru's. And it was cost effective.

I'm not, this is my car. Why would it be for a wife/girlfriend?

x2, why would a person ever buy a car for a wife or girlfriend?

If I'm feeling generous they can drive it for an afternoon.

Your stock intake comes down into a fender and is fed from where?? Mine takes from open air in engine bay

I'm doing heat soak tests on my tC, I doubt it but the frs might be designed the same way??

I think the intake sucks from up under the front bumper cowl. Air filter attaches on the top driver's corner of the upper radiator support and sucks fro outside the engine bay.

mmmm.... I really want a painted Carbon fiber hood but I don't know how well they stand up in -55C weather. I want to have it painted too but would rather not have hood pins in it.. I'm not really a fan of them.
