I had an AC and sold it for a DC. I liked it, but I needed more room for pups and people and it's nice to have more room for anything else. Not saying the AC has no room, but I like the tons of room in a DC. DC and AC both look good to me. Unless it's a stock DCLB. I don't like the look of those, IMO.

I love my AC... shorter wheelbase with a decent length of bed.... but I am younger and only want room for a girl, me and these guysuploadfromtaptalk1370229900327.jpg

Being able to drive around in a city and parallel park (something I do far more often than I'd need 12" more of bed space) and still be able to carry people around. DCSB FTW.

My wife can barely back her IS250 out of the garage. She has parallel parked though. Once. On her driving test. In my 88' Oldsmobile Toronado.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Trucks weren't originally meant to be people haulers, they are now for some odd reason. But, does anyone remember how things were from about the mid 80s all the way back? Regular cab trucks owned the road back then, finding a extended cab or quad cab from those years is tough; you had to special order one in from the factory typically. People used trucks for work and station wagons for hauling the kids to school and getting groceries. Only reason I went with a AC is because I didn't fit comfortably in a RC.

Is the DC tail gate a foot higher then the AC tail gate?

Dually crew cab was the people hauler of old. I've got a 68 Chevy p/u that I'm building, and I belong to a website for them. There were crew cabs in the 60's, but like you said they were special order and I suspect mostly government agencies ordered them.

I think the S-10 was the first mainstream p/u with a extra cab that caught on here (I remember the early Toyota extra cab - with about 6" more behind the seats....) They've been using 4 door pickups in South America for years before catching on here.

The 12 yrs I had my extended cab PreRunner some one would always invite themselves to ride with my wife & me. I would always "forget" to pull down the seat pad and they would crash their ass when sitting. Needless to say my wife & me just looked at each other and smiled when they made the comment about how hard the back seat was. For some reason they never invited themselves to ride with us again.
Now if I had invited them I would pull the pad down.
Since the kids are grown I bought an Access cab to replace my PreRunner, if I needed a people hauler we just took the wife's new caddy, she likes showing it off as it is.

There are plenty of times that I've parked in downtown Denver and there isn't 12" to spare...

I wish I'd bought a Tundra, but no, I don't need the double cab. The access cab has enough room for most of my needs.

You've parallel parked in a spot that isn't 12" longer than your truck ?

    That's impressive

    Impossible , but impressive
