i would have to say you need to check and see how "indented" the gaskets are. i am sure you have already checked for cracks and such so no point mentioning that. you can reuse them if you want, worst that happens is it leaks and you have to rebuild it again 5 mins later. but honestly no more expensive than what a gasket kit is for them i would suggest just running down the the lawn equipment store and purchasing a gasket kit from the parts dept. but just my .02

If by indented you mean contouring to the diaphragm, they are indented.

i meant... ummm... lets see... keeping markings that came from them being compressed together and not original markings that they are intended to have to help align them. that is what i meant by "indented" if that makes any more sense???

but honestly i would more highly recommend just goin ahead and purchasing the kit from a small engine shop. cheap isnt always the best way out. those are paper/felt gaskets correct? not rubber?

I've reused many 2 cycle engine gaskets. No leaks so far and everything still starts first/second pull.

    30 bucks with some trufuel.

The only trimmers I see for sale around here are old ass "weedeater" brands or troy built. I wasn't about to pay full price for one either.

It is parked. I have been driving the car this week. I parked the truck over the weekend. Plus, I don't really have a use for the truck right now. All my pressure washers (4) have pretty much said screw you! Lol. The pumps are gone on 3 and I traded a job for a bigger pressure washer that I think the motor is locked up... I did that when I was dumb and didn't even think about checking it first! Lol

ok, so rebuilt the carb on my weedeater and it starts so much easier than before. However, I can only get it to hold idle when the choke is on. I've taken it back apart to inspect everything and nothing seems out of the ordinary. I've also adjusted everything I can think of and its behaving like it should when I'm changing the air/fuel ratio but I still can't get it to hold idle with the choke off.

    Any ideas?

Check to make sure the fuel pickup lines have not softened and broken, or collapsed. That is the most common repair I end up doing on those small engines.

Ethanol fuel destroys these things now adays. Have to replace the primer bulbs every few years. I won't buy any small engine that doesn't have a standard size bulb that is easy to replace.

I replaced everything on this thing and soaked it in carb cleaner...

    Replaced the bulb too.

I finally got it running. I took everything apart and put the old needle back in. I think the new needle may have been a few mil's out of tolerance. I think it was binding a little bit and prohibiting an optimum air/fuel ratio.

Again, never ship or buy anything that will be shipped using USPS

Just ordered a cordless sawzall online and "USPS" said it was delivered yesterday. I was home at the time it said it shipped and I most certainly was not home.

hmmmm, paul did you not learn your own lesson yet??? i figured after the last incident it would be safe to assume you were gonna lead the lynch mob against them, but here you are giving them another chance. just too nice of a guy paul!!! ha!

but seriously i am right there with you. waiting on all kinds of stuff that was "free shipping" if you used the usps stuff but cost like $10 a piece if you used ups. so i tried to save a dollar and paid with time instead.

It was coming from ebay so a shipping method wasn't specified. I messaged the seller and told them that if they are going to continue to use USPS, at least require a signature.

At least it's not Fedex... I thought christmas gifts were stolen off my apartment porch. Turns out they were delivered to the apartment complex over. Fedex hardly ever goes to the office when I live in an apartment, super geniuses. The other complex tracked me down and told me like 2 months later.

I also love how fedex delivers to the usps and then usps delivers the packages. I understand the idea "they drive the streets anyways" but it just ads another step in the line of stops for items to get misplaced.

My truck is at Toyota right now getting the differential seal replaced (warranty).

I have a needle bearing puller and ECGS bushing coming in hopefully today to take care of the front diff vibration issue. I haven't noticed the vibration so much since I put my skids on, but if I crank my Icons up some more, I'm sure it will come back. They are coming in through USPS. Haven't had a problem with them yet.
