my steering wheel was shaking a little bit but only on one road, by my house, not any other road. at first I thought it was the road, but just for the heck of it I checked my lug nuts to make sure they're all tight.my locking lugnut was so loose I could spin it off by hand!!!!so I tightened it and now everything is fine I can't believe one lugnut could make that much of a difference!!!

I tightened the rest with the tire iron that came with the truck. Everything seemed fine, I don't have a torque wrench. The weird part, is, it only happened on the first 3 miles of highway by my house, now everything is fine:confused:The last person to mess with my wheels was the dealer 1500 miles ago when I had the tires rotated WTF??!!!

I don't think one loose nut would cause all that shaking but I am no mechanic.

that wouldn't cause the shaking. you're rotational mass would still have the same balance center. does sound like your rim might be loose though.

I just checked them all again and they're all tight. I don't know why it was only happening on 1 road, then after that smooth. The road don't look bad:confused:After I tightened that 1 loose lugnut this morning and drove down that road all was good again. Weird I know, but I'm just happy everything is good:) It did seem like they used the wrong key on my rear locking lugnut though, there was some metal wedged in their that must have broke off from them using the wrong key.I had to break the pieces out with a hammer and flathead screwdriver, so I could get my key to work:eek:

The shaking I was feeling was in the steering wheel.

Using the tire iron to tighten your lugnuts is ONLY a TEMPORARY solution. It is impossible to set a proper torque just by feel. You should take your truck into a mechanic with a torque wrench as soon as possible and have them check your lugs. Just about any mechanic should offer that quick service for free.
