Oh yeah I'd say I got a good deal. The guy was about to sell it to someone willing to pay $1,000 more, or so he says, but ended up selling to me because I wasn't being a pushy asshole haha. And I was the first to come look at it apparently. But yeah, no used first gen is cheap by any means. My brother sold his 01 with 130k miles on it, in not great condition body wise, for 12k which I thought was an awesome deal for him lol.

Yeah, I got mine for 12750 @ 100k miles. Excellent condition including dealer service records and T-belt changed on schedule. Included the Snugtop. Of course, I went right out and bought new tires and then replaced all the suspension...so add another $2k

And I only had to drive 3 hours to test it/get it.

so heres some food for thought, has anyone ever done this or heard of some one swapping out their xtra-cab and "long bed" for a Double-cab and "short" bed? are the frames the same length on xtra-cabs and double cabs?

I do not have an answer, but I do have a question!

What on earth made you think of this? What are you planning?

lol i've just been thinking about all the extra interior space a double cab would give me. i could then pack my dogs inside and everything else in the bed (including the g/f...:D)! i ve thought about swapping all my crap onto a another double cab truck but i dont want an automatic transmission so im in a pickle. not that i would do either of those in the near future!

I understand that. I love my truck and don't want to trade it in, but we just had our 3rd kid, so I can either take the wife or the kids.... Maybe not such a bad thing.... A double cab would be nice, but I love my long bed and not a fan of automatics.... how else are my kids going to learn how to drive a stick.

But, I predict a DC in my future.:sick:

Afaik the frames are the same length and are basically the same. I believe the double cab would bolt up to the extra cab frame but there would be a huge gap between the back of the cab and the front of the bed. I believe there was a build on ttora a while back where a guy was trying to swap beds and ended up scrapping the idea.

I'm pretty sure the trucks are built on the same frame hence the long bed on the xtra cab and the short bed on the d cab. I would love to get a d cab as well.

I believe he's trying to swap the entire body not just the beds. So he wouldn't have to worry about that gap. I believe the frame is the same length but dont quote me on that.

    Bronze clutch pedal bushing,
Installed my OME lift Friday. Removed the brush guard. Painted grill. Cleaned up. The lift took me 7 hours start to finish, working solo, first time I have ever lifted a truck. Now waiting on wheels and tires.

Looks good man. Off topic though, how do you think your truck would look if you removed that rubber trim going down the side? Just a suggestion.

    Bronze clutch pedal bushing,
I will remove it once I get all other work done, the last step will be a new paint job. Pics don't show it but it is scratched from end to end, and has a few dings here and there. After the paint job I will decide if I want it back on.
