I'm about to call Wheelers and order my kit. They're saying there's really no need for the sway bar relocate though. I've seen several folks in here that needed. Is there any rhyme or reason to who does and doesn't need it?

Dunno, I have the same opinion. Didn't need one on my 2011 DCLB.

And now I run without the sway bar entirely. Love it.

Didn't need it with sway, and now I don't have the sway.

How do you like the ride without? I did the same, 886s and 13mm spacers, no sway bar.

And my kit is ordered. OME kit w/ 885s and the new sport shocks, front strut assembly, LR UCAs, extended rear brake lines, 3 degree shims, carrier bearing drop, sway bar relocate and some small top plate spacers = $1862 plus shipping from Wheelers. Will get the grand total on Monday when they package it up for shipping.

I love the ride. Its a truck so I don't drive it like a race car. I just need to remember to run over/through anything that jumps out in front of me instead of swerving :D

True, but I like it because I'm one of those people who focus on driving while I drive, and I like feeling more from the truck. It's actually more fun to blow around a corner with the pedal down.

I can't stand my 886's anymore, I am ordering 885s and new 90000 struts. My 886s and struts are about 5 years old and the ride is unbearable. I'm not sure if maybe the struts are worn out and are causing the super stiff ride. I have an allpro front bumper without a winch and the small bumps\cracks in the pavement are so brutal, I can't deal with it anymore. I could probly weld solid square tubing in place of the coils and I wouldnt notice a difference. I really hope new 885s and struts make a huge difference.

What is the Dakar leaf overload? Is it the equivilant of the 886 but for leaf springs?

the overload leaf is the flat leaf. there are two overload leaves on the Dakars. to get a better picture on the tacomas the stock leaves are two leaves plus the overload 3 total leaves or 3 leaves plus the overload 4 total leaves on some newer models. the dakars IIRC are 7 total leaves with 2 overloads. someone correct me if im wrong but i think the overloads help with the carrying capacity for a load in your bed. the 886 springs are just a higher spring rate that can hold 200+ pound on your front end like an aftermarket plate bumper and winch for example.

Bro, that's worn out struts. You don't need new springs.

Wouldn't worn out shocks make it bouncy?

    The Dakar AAL ?

If you are referring to the optional AAL for the Dakars , the d29xl ( for 2nd gens ) it is not an overload but another leaf for the main pack that goes between the 3rd and 4th leafs down from the top , it adds spring rate as well as approx 3/4" of lift it is not an additional overload
