I'm thinking of going with the pioneer 3500...how do you like your 2500? It looks like it is recessed quite a bit in the dash kit - does that make it awkward when pushing the side buttons?

How well does that stereo kit fit? I have the same one but in single DIN and the top half is loose and isn't flush like the stock one was.

It looks more recessed than it actually is, but it is best like that for viewing angle and reduced sun glare. I absolutely love the 2500, it has everything I need, is easy to use, and looks great. I think the only difference w/ the 3500 is HD Radio and XM? Neither of which I really needed. I have Pandora One which I use instead of satellite radio and HD Radio is nice (wife has it in her 2013 Highlander) but not essential. Either way they both are awesome units.

Awesome man appreciate the input. I love the look of the 2500/3500 with the buttons on the side as opposed to full 7"screens with small buttons along the bottom. And yeah I need the satellite radio, plus the 3500 goes for <300 on Amazon right now :)

Speaking of sun glare, I've seen some comments about it being pretty bad on double dins. Is that the case for you too?

Also looks liked you went with the Metra textured dash kit? Any complaints there?

Glare really isn't bad at all, I have my front windows tinted so that helps a little too. And the dash kit isn't a perfect match color/texture wise, but it fits great with no rattling. I am very happy with the setup.

Just finished putting my new sub in, I have line out converters but the sound quality isn't the greatest so I will be getting a double din in the near future.

Yup! It's wrapped in carbon fiber vinyl with a carbon fiber kenwood sub to match.

With the converters I pulled off both rear speakers with the stock non jbl deck. The sound quality Isn't bad but its not great. I find there is a tiny bit of delay. I notice more since switching from two 10's to one 12.

Nice work , vinyl wrap is a awesome idea.
Does it help hide some fiber glass work imperfections ?
Last time I made a fiber glass box I painted it. But at a close look it showed my lack of bondo skill.

It fits pretty well. Not perfect, but close.

Vinyl will hide very small inperfections. It is better to bondo and sand smooth. Having a smoother surface will also allow the adhesive to adhere better.

I was lucky enough there were really no imperfections to hide. I will take closer pics to get a better look at the vinyl/fitment

I was going to get a Infiniti Basslink but at the store, the guy gave me a deal. It fits snug. It is an 8in woofer and it sounds great.

Here's my new setup. Only had my Tacoma a few months so this is my first mod, think I went pretty big. 1 12" Kick Solo Baric L7 Sub in a custom center mounted box. Behind it I have a 1800 Watt Rockford Fosgate amp. The door speakers and head unit are factory. I'll probably be adding a new touch screen head unit and tweeters soon.
