You don't remove them. They rotate. When you loosen the bolt And move the LCA they may rotate. When you are done just rotate them back to the marks you left. One side of each cam has a place for a wrench to help turn the cam.

There's no hole in the shaft for an Allen wrench on my 2013 Double cab.

Thank you very much for your video. Do you know if these torque values are the same for all 2nd gens? I have a 2010 and just wanted to cover all the bases before doing this. Thanks.

I installed 5100's all around last weekend and didn't have to remove the sway bar. Took me longer than necessary because removing the top nut on the old shock was a pain.

I've been reading this forum for a while, but had to chime in on this way of changing front coil overs. I just finished my fourth swap (2nd truck) and this is BY FAR much easier than screwing around with my spring compressor. 1 1/2 hours from wheels up to wheels down. Never felt any danger during the process, unlike using compressors. Great thread!

Video looks great, but where is your sway bar? Maybe I just don't see it. For me, it was in the way when installing the longer strut assembly, thanks.

Saw the above info, so just the sway bar linkage was removed? The part that you hold the center with an allen key or the entire sway bar itself gets removed.?

I completely removed the sway bar.

But other people have done it by just disconnecting the links.

I just did another Taco since my last post and didn't have to do anything with the sway bar either time. They slid down and away from the bar on both an 07 and an 09.

Going for it this morning. The guys at Les Shwab tried to talk me out of doing this and bringing the struts into them after I removed them from the truck. This looks way easier. They'll be surprised when I walk in this morning "alive" to get an alignment. Thanks for all the info.

Done! Finished it in a little more then an hour and that included making a cup of coffee in the middle of it. Did not touch the sway bar linkage at all and found that if you loosen the LCA to frame "just a little" your alignment does not move or very little if any. This is the only way to change out struts on these trucks. Walked into Les Shwab for an alignment and got the  when I told them I did the struts without a compressor. Still alive!
