TSBs why do they seem to hate them?

So the dealership you bought the truck from did order the parts and you were notified they came in? But you got the work performed at another dealership (who also had to order the parts)???

I'm not in disagreement, I just want to understand your story. If that is the case, I definitely would NOT go back to that dealership. You'll end up being one of those "Oops, we forgot to tighten your lugnuts" guys. You can also use this opportunity to build a relationship with New Holland dealership. Tell them about the poor service from the other dealer and that all future work will be performed there and all future purchases will be done there.

That damn questionairre was all-inclusive! It asked freaking everything they could think of. I was really surprised. It was a great chance for me to explain some of my gripes (lack of certain options, engine ticking, etc).

I gave my dealership a glowing review. They tried to dick me on the price of the truck but did come through in the end. But they also performed the TSB without any hassle whatsoever.

What dealer were you dealing with first?

I live in Lancaster and I HATE Lancaster Toyota. Everytime I call or ask them about something, they always cop an attitude. Because of that....I bought my truck at New Holland Toyota. I got my TSB done at New Holland.
It's 30 minute drive but I'd go back to New Holland in a heart beat.

Good Luck and hopefully you'll get the same treatment at New Holland as I have.

Edit : Sorry, I just saw your secondary post about New Holland! That's what brings people back.

Yeah, I planned to do that and more. I plan on writing a lengthy letter. Just not sure who to send it to yet. ;)

Yes, the dealership did EVENTUALLY order the parts, after I demanded to speak to the Customer Service (Parts/Service) Manager. I don't have a problem waiting...I have and issue with time availability. My schedule is often last minute, so I have to plan "hard" dates ASAP. I explained this adnausium, and they said they understood. The manager swore up and down that he would make sure I received the service I expected. However, when it came time to call me (when they promised) nothing. The same manager eventually lied to both me and his boss to cover his ass. After that, I was done and sought a new dealership to get this done at, for the exact reason you cited....the possibility of something "overlooked".

Did I mention the detail that the only reason parts were ordered was because I called to complain? Nothing was done for 5 days after I brought the truck in. New Holland ordered my parts as I stood there this morning.

I first dealt with Milham. Seriously, if they would have just called me when they said they would and told me nothing was "decided" yet, I could deal with it and would have been none the wiser. However, when I called, they admitted that nothing was ever done at all. How's that for a big "F-YOU" we have better things to do? You folks know the rest of my story. I eventually did speak with the General Manager, who really seemed sincere in his desire to make things right. But, by that time, I couldn't help but feel that I salted that place formyself. Better to just take it somewhere else and keep my piece of mind.

It also came down to a matter of principle. Even though I wasn't paying, I didn't want them to make the money off of the work. I'd rather take the business somewhere else.

Like I said, I don't have the TSB done yet...but so far, New Holland is 1,000 times better. If I were closer, I would take my truck there all the time.

Just remember to also give the good guys (sounds like New Holland, in this case) a good review in the phone call. It lets Toyota know who's doing things right and who to model business after. It also helps New Holland receive recognition within the company, plus company incentives.

I work as a consultant (unrelated to Toyota completely), and I know first hand how much client opinion can affect me. People are quick to complain, and morale can suffer if that's all you hear. The old saying, 'no news is good news' is certainly true, but only goes so far. I actually have a folder I keep with customer appreciation letters - I've labeled it 'Testament to Awesomeness.' It's a small folder, but each letter helps me remember what I did right, powers me through the tough jobs, and helps me be a better consultant for my clients.

Good point. I will make sure I am as equally vocal to Toyota and the dealership itself, about the good service New Holland seems (will change tense when work is done) to be providing me.

The nearest "Stealership" to me is 20 min away. A bunch of retarded assholes. Northshore Toyota in Covington, LA
The nearest "Dealership" to me is an hour away. Nice people and service is great. No problems doing my rear TSB. Toyota of Slidell in Slidell, LA
I choose to drive an hour away but to me it is completely worth it. An extra 30min drive is nothing compared to the headaches an asshole dealership can give you.

According to them the previous post about ratings is correct. If you rate them anything less than Excellent on anything is like an "F" on a report card, no Bs or Cs allowed.

Well, I went back to New Holland to have my TSB done. I fell asleep in the waiting room and was woken by the ASM. I thought it was already done, only to be told that they couldn't do it today because one of the leaf springs that got sent was the wrong part number (old part number?). Not his fault, stuff happens. He was very apologetic and told me he would physically put his hands on them when they came in and he'd get me scheduled again ASAP. I was so close... at least it my "yes" didn't turn into a "no".

My 07 is in today for the TSB Also. Royal Moore Toyota, Hillsboro Oregon. They gave me almost no hassle, they did say it may not be covered because of the Revtek Lift, but after service manager inspected it for about 30 seconds, they scheduled me in to have it done.

Good luck to all having this accomplished, and I do agree, find a good dealership, and let Toyota lnow why they are good.

SUCCESS!!! I just got back from New Holland Toyota of PA and my TSB is done. :goingcrazy: While I was sitting there, the Service Manager came into the waiting room and introduced himself to everyone. He asked if anyone needed anything, or he could be of assistance. He did this not once, but twice! The second time he came in, he had two sales reps in tow, to see if anyone who recently purchased a vehicle from them, still had things that needed to be taken care of...I imagine things like WeOwes and stuff like that. Incredible how different New Holland is compared to the 5 Toyo Dealerships around where I live and work. Great service, great people down there in New Holland. I'm gonna be sure to write both the General Manager and Toyota Corporate with positive feedback for them. I just wish they weren't so far...I'd love to take all my work to them. :D
