2013 Tacoma DBL Cab 4x4 TSS (cranks but doesnt start)

Bought it brand new with 12 miles and it now has lil under 5000 miles 4 months later.. It has left me stranded 2 twice and 1 of turning off when driving.Had it towed to the dealer and they couldnt figure it out of why it was doing it and is currently at the dealer now with no answer, i was told a toyota rep even came down to look at it and had no clue as well.

I called toyota up today and made a claim for them to buy it back or put me in a tundra.. Waiting on them to call me back tomorrow and go from there

    things i have checked

    -I swapped keys
    -no trouble codes
    -checked grounds

    your electrics sound janked
it is not Toyota fault, it is the knobs that 'TSS'ed it

those aftermarket pre-sales packages are dubious

go through the lemon-law process, get a new one and not TSS

Thats really weird. They won't put you in a tundra but they will unwind the deal if they cant find the problem. you'll get all money back including taxes and tag, depending on state law.

Well I pull a 19ft bass boat 300 miles round trip once a month round trip and have some buddies who have tundras and I like them. But your right the gas mileage sucks never seen a truck like that. I was thinking the smaller v8 and not the 5.7

Well this is unusual. I don't know about Toyota V8's, but the case with my dads Dodge is the bigger engine gets the same mileage as the smaller V8.
His 2012 Ram with the 5.7 Hemi gets better MPG than the old 2002 we had with the 4.7, That same effing Hemi sometimes gets even more MPG than my little 3.4 V6:mad:

anyways, I hope they resolve the issues your having.

Agreed they won't put him in a Tundra, but they might make it attractive.

When my buddy got his Cherokee lemoned out, he was offered $22k, or $26k towards the purchase of a new Chrysler/Jeep product.

He took the $22k and bought a 4-Runner.

Isn't the TSS package just cosmetic though? I don't know much about it since I've never seen one here on the islands, but I have only read so far that they have rims, exhaust, flares, and decals?

Dealing with a similar issue here. Bought a brand new 13 trd off road and it died on me after 40 km on the odometer check engine light came on and it would only idle rough. Got it back to the dealership just down the street and they looked at it and said it was the throttle actuator or something so they grabbed one out of a new one on the lot and seemed like it got fixed but not even a tank of gas later it did the same thing first thing Monday morning. I freaked out on them cause when I got there after work they said it was the same thing. I asked to speak with the GM of the dealership and told him that this shit would not fly on a brand new truck. So they are bringing in a new one in a week or so and I am getting rid of that lemon cause if it is something electrical who knows what will happen to it next. Sorry for the rant but I'm still pissed off about this !!!!

Thanks man I thought getting a new truck would be a great thing but this has just been a kick in the ass. Not to mention every one at my work has a gm or dodge and this is all I need when telling them Toyota makes a great truck.
