I love the stainless that is magnaflow along with their sound. I've always loved flowmaster 40s. But i'll probably end up with a TRD because of powertrain warranties.

question. Im looking at getting an flow master exhaust but I was wondering if the Cat-back System - Dual Side Exit - American Thunder part # 17432 for the 2012 Tacoma would fit my 2013 Tacoma. The flow master system for the 2013 Tacoma part is #817614. I don't see the reason to pay an extra $100 dollars for a system.

that's roughly what the system cost. installation will cost you about another 200 plus is my guess. just to install my CAI they quoted me at 150

I got a vibrant ultra quiet resonator and a 14 inch magnapack welded into the stock piping. It sounds LOW. Zero rasp and not much drone. It's pretty quiet in the cab but outside it's pretty loud. (I had someone do a flyby while I stood on the street. I also have trd intake.

Ya I would only do the muffler just looking for sound not really performance

I just got a Flowmaster 40 series on my 1999 Toyota Tacoma 3.4L v6 -- sounds GREAT. Very deep and throaty, not ricey like those magnaflows ;)

I'd like to get rid of that big fat muffler underneath...but I don't want it to be louder :(

Am I stuck with it? a SLIGHT growl would be ok. for comparison.... the trd exhaust is way too loud for me.

Im a fan of Magnaflow for 1st gen Tacoma applications. For 2nd gen, I like the sounds of Flowmaster and Borla. They both sound nice on a 4.0

But for me, I just cut my stock tailpipe right after the axle, sounds ok for now.
