Full OME lift with Dakars, 886s and LR UCA's, Firestone air bags w\ onboard compressor, 2 kicker CVT 10" subs , MB Quart 1000w amp ,Alpine media player
the front end wasn't this stiff when I first put on the 886s which makes me thinks the struts are seized. But I also had a 1200 lb plate tamper in my box and she rode like a cadillac which makes me think the spring rate is too high. I dunno what to do maybe just try new 90000s on the 886s first. The allpro bumper isnt that heavy , maybe I should try the 885s, wish i knew someone runnin the 885s I could take for a test drive.

I would start with new struts, 886s are designed for heavier loads like your bumper. if your 886s are 5 years old then you have the older version, the new 886x springs now resist sagging better and have been around for about 3 years. I have the 885x springs without extra weight and they ride stiff (which I wanted and like) so id imagine if you switched to them they wouldnt be able to hold the weight of your bumper as well as the 886s do

I ran 886X without weight for a year, and while the ride was a little stiff it wasn't bad. Added the AP apex and a skid and the front dropped right down. Had to install spacers to get my rake back to 1/2".

The struts are cooked. Replace them and you'll be right back to a smooth ride.

With the full OME and 886s up front on 265/17/17 with stock wheels and TCA UCA should I worry about rubbing at all?

Well 265/17/17 would be like a 19" tire. So i dont think you will rub it might be close though. :p you should have no rubbing with 265/70/17 either.

Haha sorry.... Lack of sleep finally got to me. Yes I meant 265/70/17's.......
But I know with stock suspension sometimes they will rub going over bumps and locking the wheels in reverse, so I'm hoping the lift will get rid of that issue.
What would be a good reference for allignment numbers post lift?

Most likely. We usually have it at 3" for 285's. You can do some trimming and they will be fine, maybe a body chop.

Run a 275. I've got minimal rub at full lock, and only in reverse.

    Hi All-

I just installed Dakar's a few weeks ago, and am doing the front suspension next week.
From what I read, the 884x's + 1/4 spacer for taco lean correction were the right choice for my 4x4 AC. The more I read, the more I see people putting in the 885x's with my, or similar applications. I'm okay with a little bit of rake- I just don't want it to look like 1977 Grand Torino (like it does right now).

    My measurements right now are:

    Front: (5100's @1.75) 21.5
    Rear: (Dakar's) 25.0

Question is, if the 884x's are going to yield too much rake, can I set my 5100's at .85 to compensate, or will the over extend going over speed bumps and things like that?
I would really hate to have to re-order 885x's and lose $70 in shipping.

Edit: Truck isn't getting any armor or plate bumpers. The only off-roading it does is beach driving.

either spring will do just fine. leave your billies set at "0" and use top plate spacers to achieve the hight you want

So, go 1/2 spacer on the driver side, 1/4 spacer on the passenger side?
Anyone have a link for the 1/2 spacer? Can't find it on toytec's site.

Use the trim packer to correct for taco *lean, use the spacers to achieve the desired lift.

My bad, didn't see we were talking about 5100s. He should get nitro sports, then I would be right again.

Did anyone add taller bump stops with the Dakars? Is that something I need to worry about?
