True, but i had hoped to avoid preload at all costs

I still think they lowered the spring rate, when I got them im almost sure they were rated at 650

but that was more than two years ago, i might be wrong

Bleh... I have to give a speech today on a medal of honor recipient... I hate giving speeches... I tend to just freeze up when I get up in front of everyone...

 

ugh I freeze totally. I have to take a Communications (speech) class this comin semester. :/ When regesterin I stated that I was quitin college because of it. But that never last long.

 

I thought the same thing when I had to take my comm 101 class... the only reason I passed is because I can write a damn good speech and the teacher quickly realized that I am just one of those people that will never be good at speech giving... So I got like straight B's on everything in that class... To get through my speech I would take my required outline up and literally just read that line for line. Only way I could do it...

It's really easy to be out and open online like this forum but in person I am pretty quiet and laid back. I mostly just listen to people unless you get me talking about something I'm into like Tacomas. haha Then you can't get me to shut up...

Ha well your better off. I am horrid at writin as well. I mean I make good grades but i hate every second of it. I literally shake like a leaf every time I go up front. And that usually as a group. ha.
And totally. I get chatty online and texts and such but meet me and you could probably count how many words I manage to say. Unless you bad mouth my Taco... Haha.

 

I don't enjoy public speaking much either, however once I'm up there I really don't mind it and can do fine if I actually prepare for the speech haha. It's when I review the note cards an hour before the speech that I trip on my face. However when I have to give a group speech, and I stand there and watch group members fuck it up and miss information and so on i always just want to take over a finish it myself haha. I usually do better if I don't have to deal with others in a group because usually other group members are all over the place and cover shit they aren't supposed to or just generally go off the plan and I'm stuck re writing my speech in the middle of it.

 

I have to present at work meetings. I've found that detailed notes do not work. You end up getting lost, you'll look down, see a sea of text, and be fucked (um, uh, um,....) You are far better off with thorough knowledge of your topic that you have authority on, and just using simple bullets of a few words for each point you want to talk about to help remind you where you are and what to talk about next.

You cannot read details, and I don't know about you, but I can't memorize a speech.

 

Bingo. That right there. Having your speech on note cards will have you relying on those note cards for everything. If you know your topic well, you hardly even need notes, just look at your ppt to know what you are talking about next. The problem with speech classes is you have to talk about shit you don't care about so you don't take the time to leant it well enough to speak fluently on it.

Also I just realized I can type really freaking fast on this iphone haha. Clearly I have had this thing too long.

public speaking's fine for me, once you start performing solo the little things get littler

Only once in my life have I tried giving a word-for-word speech; at graduation.. and I lost my place in front of 1,500 people. hahaaaa
