You gotta put the other ones back on. Doesn't look right. But hey I guess if your saving mpg then it's ok.

By the way I love the look of red label tires. I figured out the weight on them and there about 67lbs for my tire size haha. Just way to heavy

I just looked at one of those in that color  last night....

Nice looking and plenty of room...4 door short bed TRD Off Road..:)

Buying something different is beginning to SUCK.....as we are realizing how much I use the bed for everything; cleaned up my garage, tossed used metal in the back of Taco and Momma made a scrap run...Beer $$ ;)

BUT doing that with a FJ ???? definetely not the Lexus and NO...not buying a trailer.....

I did find "plans" on the FJ site for a cargo box to carry most of the items in my Tacomas toolbox BUT that "scrap run", the load of loam or mulch, furniture "treasures" that Connie finds almost weekly ...
    leaves me wondering WTH ???

You guys and girls with 4 doors and SHORT BEDS....any major bitche$ ???

Advantages to having the 4 doors besides the obvious ??? Will that back seat be comfortable enough for long rides for both "Munchkins" & adults ???

This was easier when I wanted a 2nd Gen Runner but I am not stepping backwards....

I cant speak for the SB guys, but having the back seat in a DC is nice. It def fits 4 people comfortably. I went with the LB because I wanted to be able to fit a full piece of plywood, sheetrock etc, without it hanging way off the back.

X2. DCLB is the way to go for family space and hauling. Having a baby on the way is one of the bigger factors I stayed away from the FJ.

I have the short bed and no regrets as far as bed length. I can haul my motorcycle and lumber just fine. With the cap, my next vehicle will likely be an SUV of some sort but that's only because I have an open trailer for all the things I would normally use a pickup for. Without the trailer, no way in hell would I give up the pickup.

As far as the back seats, they are comfortable on long trips. I drive the whole family (my, wife and my parents) to Christmas every year from Albany to Plattsburgh which is about a 3 hour trip with me at the helm. My parents usually take the back seat and if they weren't comfortable, believe me, I'd hear about it the entire trip! So far, we've made the trip 3 times and no complaints. The design of the rear seats is another story. I think it's a horrible system. The fixed boxes under the seats are about useless and prevent you from putting large items in the cab. Past trucks, the rear seat bottom would fold back into the rear of the cab so you could utilize the full space from floor to ceiling if you needed to move something large and didn't want to use the bed. That's my biggest gripe against the rear seats.

Good point but even with the long bed, sheet goods do not fit well since they won't fit between the wheel wells. I use the notches in the bed and put 2x6's in them so sheet goods will lay flat on that instead of the bottom of the bed.

I hated the look of the ac so I went with a dcsb and it was a bad mistake. I can see you needing the room for more people but for me it was a waste. Having a short bed really sucked. Couldn't fit alot in there. My ATv wouldn't fit all the way and I just didn't like it. The back seat was nice sometimes but I was finding that I never used it. Too much room for just me. Maybe you'll like it cause your gonna be carrying people and there is enough room to sit back there but for me I like my ac now. Get a ac long bed and your good to go. I love having a long bed in my first gen. I can fit my ATv now and close the tailgate. So happy about that lol

^ I was thinking about the first ones as well, which I though were more of a desert tire.

Ol Pugga has a good point about the storage. I'm planning on modding mine to fit my needs.

The bed and wheel wells were designed to be used with two 2x6s for hauling sheet goods.

I have a couple of 2x6's cut to length that I keep in the garage. Its actually a decent set up to get above the wheel wells. The guys that have a cap and use it as a camping rig but a piece of carpeted plywood on top if the 2x6's for a nice sleeping platform.

Exactly..you can manage a few sheets at a time if that's it. I once hauled 40 pieces of the stuff and didn't even try Linda's 96 Tacoma..just spent the 20 bucks to rent the flat truck from Home Despot, loading took 2 minutes. Unloading sucked, one sheet at a time FML

I will say at least Toyota used some common sense squaring off the wheelwells. My Chevy had them rounded off and it was a pain in the balls moving sheets of stuff with that.
