So I'm not sure if this has been mentioned, but everyone should be prepared...

That entire area is going to be a madhouse at the time and date of this meet...

It's the first Friday night of the Alameda County Fair... Which has it's main parking entrance at Valley and Bernal (if you click the link in the first post, the map in the upper right has a road labeled "Gate 8"), about a block from the shopping center you're all going to. With the fair's parking at $10.00/car, the free parking lot next door (Habit Burger) is going to be packed to the gills too.

Really don't mean to be the bearer of bad news, but figured that it might be pertinent.

Extra info, about the fair: Ranked the 33rd largest fair (attendance wise), of over 3000 fairs in North America. Last year, the fair averaged around 31,500 visitors a day.

Thank for the info Ryan. I was in the area today, so I looked into this. I went into Habit Burger and talked to management. A little bit of good news, and not-so-good news.

Good news - Safeway regulates parking in the whole area. When the fair opens up, they put signage up in the parking lot and have someone patrolling the area. The folks at Habit Burger remember a bunch of cars getting towed last year because they were folks going to the fair looking for free parking.

Also, the band playing at the fairground on this night is The Marshall Tucker Band (LINK), which means, no one really important LOL. The only other thing outside of normal happening at the fairground is an antique show (LINK), which is also lame

Not-so-Good news - We're meeting on a Friday night around dinner time, so it's going to get somewhat busy. BUT, we're going to get that anywhere we go.

In consensus, I say we still have it here. That parking lot is huge and it'll be able to accommodate us. If needed, we can play musical chairs with the parking spots so that by the end of the night, we'll all be lined up where we want.

Some shots of the parking lot:

** If anyone INSIST on changing the venue because of a potential crowd, let me know. I really can care less where we meet, and Athens Burger (where we've met in the past) isn't too far from here. Just wanted to change it up a little bit.

Okay well looks like I'm not going to SoCal (too much $) so I'll be at the meet. I'll bring my goodies just in case.

Oh I'm down to help, but liability reasons might cancel it in the parking lot. I can see us getting into trouble. It would be a pretty cool meet if we did all bust out a lift in no time. Hell we could put a bumper on my 4runner if people want to go all out...haha

What if we go to a local park and BBQ?

I'm not sure if people want to do a long distance venue change but Peter T Gill Park in Milpitas has 20 spots in their lot, tons of street parking, a vending machine, BBQ Facilities, restrooms, bball and tennis courts plus a baseball diamond.

There is a reservation cost though.

If you really want to do mods, I don't think there would be as many issues with "liability" and security there.
