you should be able to do a lot w/ minimum damage. i'd keep off kodak rock, daniel, and probably dutch john. muddiness would dictate how well those stocker tires do though.

I think they found my kid's plastic bow and arrow up there and thought it was some sort of artifact...

But no, it was closed due to all of the bypasses that the ATV's and other vehicles were creating up there. They're building guard rails up the entire trail, and may reopen next year.

That's easier to do with a privately owned park.....

Unfortunately, URE is going to be in trouble. Even with all of the volunteers building fences and blocking off bypasses, folks are still finding ways to get around the blockades. It's only a matter of time. Daniel will be next, since the ATV's (and some trucks) can't get up the ledge, they cut through the woods.

Kind of. Tellico was done in by Fisherman. URE will be done in by the few that don't follow the rules, and can't blame the USFS for that.

Stopped by toyota yesterday to have an oil change and an alignment check done. Long story short they couldnt/ wouldnt align it. Went into the shop while the truck was on the lift to confirm there findings on the multi point inspection.

I need lower control are bushing, lower ball joints, and ujoints on the driveshaft. Total cost for toyota to do it is gonna be $1800. Holy shit!!

I'm wodering if there was anybody in western nc/ charlotte/ South Carolina areas that could help me out with doing these. I can pay. The catch is I really need this done in like 2 weeks. Doing a wheeling trip in GA and then heading to Florida right after.

    Anyone? Thoughts? Opinions?

    This is the break down

    Alignment-$74.95

They want to replace the lower control arms entirely and new ball joints and bushings are included I new ones
Lower control arms- labor: 1.7hr X 2= $323 parts:$860.46 that's the bulk of the money

Ujoints the want $272.5 X 2= $545.00 parts and labor. which seems steep for just 2 ujoints.

    Grand total of $1803.46

What happened to just replacing bushings in control arms and getting new ball joints? Why a whole new unit. Seem like a waste considering nothing is wrong with the arms themselves.

We could do the ujoints. I probably have most of the tools for the other stuff in the garage but my knowledge is limited. Maybe a chiltons or toyota manual and we could prob do it. Then just pay for an allignment.

That would be great. The ujoints shouldn't be a huge issue. It's a one piece drive shaft.

Not sure how much he wants to get into. I think we could do it here, just wished we had someone that knew more about the control arms and other stuff.
