Trying to wire up my off road lights and cannot figure out how to get the power wires through the firewall and into the cab. Any suggestions?? Thanks

Rubber grommet on drivers side is a good place to start.

If its smaller guage wire you can get it through the gromets near the drivers side kick panel. A coat hanger might help you pull them through, just be careful not to damage any stock wiring.

Someone had told me that samething long ago. Using a coat hanger to run it through the firewall works, just be careful not to damage anything.

I ran all my wiring which is a lot through the rubber grommet on the drivers side just below the master cylinder.

Is that the big one where the wiring harness comes through at? Or are you talking about a different one?

Thats the one. I just made a small slit to fit more wires through.

Get a thin plastic rod about 2 feet long from the hardware store instead of the coat hanger. You will be less likely to damage the wires. Thats what I use.

There is also a rubber grommet under each front seat with not alot of wire looms running through them. Less chance of damaging something important.

Cool just wondering. On my 2008 I found a smaller grommet up towards the top of the firewall and more in the center. There was nothing running through it so I pulled it out and ran wires there. It worked pretty good. The wire would feed down from near the gas pedal.

If I can run 0 gauge power wire,I'm sure wire lights wouldn't be a problem:D
I also used a couple zip ties and electrical tape

Thanks for the idea guys. Should I attach the wires to the plastic rod and pull them through or should I just use it to make a bigger hole in the grommet then feed the wires through? I will only be running 2-18 Gauge wires into the cab.

This is what I do. I run the rod through the grommet (where the rest of the wires are at). I then use duct tape and tape the wires I want to pull through the grommet to the rod. I do one wire at a time because it is very tight in there.

Just tape em to whatever you're going to use, push through the opening then pull from the other side.

What diameter is the rod and where can I get it? Any home improvement store?

Get one that is the width of a wire coat hanger. Any hardware store will have them.

I pulled the rubber plug left of the main harness and drilled a hole through the center. It worked great and I avoided the harness. Ran 3 pieces 18 ga. using a little vaseline.
