This is what I do

 

i just left mine on when i had my 2011 RC, it was just a pain in the ass if you forgot to shut it off while trying to go somewhere that you would need wheelspin to keep from getting stuck....

 

I turn it off everytime , it's routine now

 

Sweet, I thought I had held it in long enough but I guess not
I just figured when the light came on it was off...

I'll get into that routine real quick

 

Push and hold the VSC button

The AUTO LSD and VSC OFF lights come on , after 3-5 seconds the AUTO LSD light goes out leaving only the VSC OFF light illuminated

This is the VSC OFF mode , it's technically not off but the sensitivity is greatly reduced

How in the hell are you people driving where VSC comes on at all? The only time it ever gets chittery with me is when the vehicle is actually getting loose...a couple times pushing my luck on wet mountain roads and forest service dirt.

I don't see how it would even impact daily driving activities unless you're acting like a moron.

The recalibration didn't work for me after my last tire size change

Normal driving , usually about 40mph , right hand curves

 

plus Canada...

 

I'm not talking snow , dry pavement

 

Mine kicked in this morning on the way to work when I forgot I was driving a lifted truck rather than my track prepped xb...took too aggressive of a line...did a reset and zero point calibration at work...no issues on the ways home

 

I agree, but when I'm in mud, dirt, snow I like the truck to be "loose". I like to be able to slide it or let it slide and recover. I feel much more in control and can handle the truck better.

 

It's not about daily driving, it's about being in control off road. Those things are great for your average driver.....but lets face it, no one gets a Tacoma and mods it to drive it on pavement. I could be wrong.

Anyway, all those "safety" devices are dangerous because you don't know how your rig will react under different conditions. With it all off, you know exactly what your truck will do, thus giving you control of the rig.

I know how much gas to give if the rear is in a skid or how much to let off to keep me on the path. Same with going up a sandy hill. I can power through loose dirt and get to the top. With all that shit on, I lose power or control and that is not a good thing.

Guess I'm used to relying on skills and knowing how the rig will react (consistently) to my interaction to get where I'm going and not on computers. Computers complicate things and are not consistent.

Agreed. I freakin hate how everyone and everything has such a boner for computers now.... cars that drive themselves? Sorry no thanks I actually enjoy driving and I'm not a dipshit thats gonna crash like 90% of the dumbass drivers out there...all computers and technology does is take away human jobs (which is the last thing we need) then they just eventually cause problems...

 

Again, with the killswitches, I've never had an issue. And I have more offroad miles than 90% of this forum.
