Trust me I have really thought about it, but I love the 38mpg average.

 

I disconnected the switch from the harness then poked a hole in the firewall with a metal hanger. See pic for location. Once the hanger went all the way through I took a knife and made a slit above and below the hanger on both sides of the firewall. I did this because the harness is so much bigger than the hanger hole. Then i just secured the harness to the hanger with duck tape and pulled it through. The firewall is only 2 inches or so from one side to the other, so it is a very short pull. The wiring only took a few minutes...

 

That's how I got the harness through for my other LED bar, but stupid me first cut the wires and fished the harness through then tried to reconnect the harness with some connectors and I did it wrong and fried the harness.

Guess this time I'll do the same with the hanger, and then cut the opening a little bigger so I can fit the switch through the boot and into the cab. Don't want to fry a wiring harness again

 

Oooooo. How does that feel

 

Feels good. Helps balance the Mpgs I get with the truck.

The pics really dont do it justice. This thing throws light like crazy. I may be adjusting the aim a little more but I think its pretty good for right now. Take note that the slats in the lower valence also block some of the light, even though its probably not that much.

 

How long is this group buy going to be open for?

And sorry if it's a dumb question, but is it possible to give these a smoked out look (to hide in the grill better)? I'm a noob when it comes to lighting haha

 

the group buy is open for a short time longer, and I'm not sure how a smoked lens would work, I don't think anyone has tried it. I know the amber or yellow lenses don't alter light output much, but smoked is a different animal.

 

Yeah that's what I figured. I have a light bar mount that is going to take a week or so for me to get and I'm not sure if it take's round or square lights so I'll have to wait.

 

I'm interested in the 20 inch bar, Quick question....The Avid light bar has mounting holes spaced with the bolt holes approx 17 inches apart. will the 20 inch bar mount to those bolt holes or am I better off getting two 6 inch pods to mount to the bolt holes.

Snowtank and I will be wiring up our 20" bars tomorrow afternoon. Mine on a BAMF behind grill bracket and his on an avid light bar. Believe he asked the same question earlier in the thread with no definite answer. I'll get back to you tomorrow night after we finish up.

So tempted to get a 30" while this is still open. Has anyone mounted a 30" in the lower grill of a 2012-13 yet?

 

Yep....
