Hey guys. Thought id share a mini-1st aid kit I put together for my small hiking/hunting bag. Its a bigger camelbak with a bunch of storage. I have a big 1st aid kit in the truck... so I just need something small/light while im out at the property working and whatnot.

For the container I used an old O'keeffe's working hands "tin". Decorated it with some vinyl in case someone's with me and I say... get the 1st aid kit. This way they cant miss it.

    Items inside:
    2 - Big band-aids
    1 - Small band-aids
    2 - butterfly stitches
    1 - ~3' piece of tape
    2 - Alcohol squares
    1 - Gauze pad
    1 - Mole skin
    1 - BC Powder
    1 - Bite/Sting capsule
    2 - Benadryl
    2 - Immodium
    2 - Pepto
    1 - 800mg ibuprofen
    1 - h2o2 packet

I bet you could fit some flip scissors in there to complete the kit.

Cool idea, I've been trying to come up with something for my hiking pack.

Went camping last night on a whim...didn't really have a plan other than to spend the night in the hills. SO glad I ended up where I did...
This big guy tried to land on the hood of my truck! He scared the crap out of me as he swooped down from a tree, over my hood and onto the sign (the rest of the sign says "Oct 1 to may 15") as I was trying to turn from one trail to another. The sign is only about a foot from my front bumper (hence the bad pic, taken through my buggy, dusty windshield)

And then he flew away :( ...to another tree about 15' away and he sat and posed for me for about 30 minutes or so :D
    [IMG]

It was getting dark and I had yet to find a place to camp for the night so I had to go. Ended up stopping for the night about 1 mile down the road and I swear I could here a faint "hooooo..." throughout the night. Then it was time to get up and get on the road again, it pays to be the first one up the mountain. Spotted this big guy about 2 miles from camp. I haven't seen a bull elk this size outside of Yellowstone in a long, long time. He should be at least a 5 pointer by fall

Thanks guys, never thought I'd run into an owl like that and the time I spent taking pics put me way behind schedule (didn't even have time for a campfire! ) but I came home with a few great pics of him so its all good

Are you not allowed to drink alcohol in a state park in Texas?
