    Lmao! Nice!!

I went and did some riding outside of Colorado Springs today and went over the handle bars a few times. A lot deeper and shifty gravel than I'm use to riding on.

Haven't checked out this thread for a while.. Lots of nice rides. I'd really like to upgrade to a 29er soon...

Nice bike. I really like my Rumblefish but if you ride tight trails with alot of technical stuff I would look into the 650Bs. 29ers with a steeper cross country geometry handle well in tight stuff but I found that I couldn't get comfortable on the descents. My Rumblefish has more of a trailbike geometry with a slacker head tube and a little more travel. The downside is I have to work a little harder on the tight technical singletrack. The big positive is I feel really comfortable on the descents, it is very forgiving and rolls over everything.

rode my first race ever today. I was going to do the enduro but decided not to for my first race. especially since it was mostly pros in the enduro. I did the super d which was supposed to be about 3.75 miles. I came in 7th in my class and 18th overall. the shitty part was that the finish was on an uphill spring for a couple hundred yards. by the time i got to the finish line I was borderline cramping. i think i did well for my first race especially since i had no falls. im pissed though because my gopro was facing too far down and all you see is the bike frame...

i use it for both... i found that its not very accurate. I try to run/ride as much as possible and when i run i do the same thing and it says 2.5-2.8 miles when its the same thing ha. its good for being free though, i only use it to measure my progress

I use mapmyride for both road and mountain biking. It seems to be pretty accurate on the road but when I am mountain biking it does seem to get the distance fairly close but the time seems to be off the last couple of rides. I put my phone in airplane mode when I am in the mountains due to spotty cell coverage and I think that affects the GPS a little bit. My friend's phone had about the same distance that I did but his time was more accurate.

Our last ride was around three hours and 17 miles but for some reason my phone said it was only 2 hours and I only burned 9 calories.

Congrats. I don't think I have the courage or the skills to enter any race. I just enjoy hitting the trails for a few hours.

    Thanks Ian!
thanks man, yeah ive been wanting to do a race since last year but never got to it until now. its just a lot of fun being in a race environment. it seemed like everyone was really relaxed, even the enduro riders. hopefully ill be in good enough shape to do the enduro next year. it was crazy seeing a few kids do the enduro too

    Yeah.
Are you using the chest mount? It took me a while to figure out how to get the right angle, it was always pointed too low. I finally figured out that I needed to shorten the over-the-shoulder straps and get it high on my chest, and tilt it all the way back.

Good finish on the Super D! I may do one in August out at Brown County in Indiana.

Thanks Dexterdog, i appreciate the compliment. My specialized XC has done quite well these past two years for the type of single track i do around here. Got quite a bit of tight, technical type trails around here so that was my only concern with a 29er. My good buddy rides a 29er and does xc races and rides quite well on it tho. I have yet to try his bike on the on the trail but i'd like to this season at least. That'll give me a good idea if stepping up to a bigger wheel is worth it or not. Didn't honestly consider a 650b but you made some great points and i would like to ride one as well. Only problem is i don't know anyone with a 650b and i don't think the bike shops are to keen on lending out $1500+ bikes for the day :(

    Thanks dude!!

None yet, but its about to get rolling.
My chain has been slipping really bad on my bike and I finally realized it had a bad kink in it that caused that. I think I need a new chain. Its a 21 speed bike. What do yall recommend?
