    In the long term I want to run a set spring such as a coil over, along side with an adjustable shock like an air shock. Just to be able to adjust ride height for either street, desert, or rock crawling

    Call me an idiot...but I'm a bit confused why you need air bags in the front. Purely for height adjustment? I would think you should have the correct spring and shock to hold the weight f the truck
    I have always been told you don't want to run air bags on an off road truck, the harsh suspension movement and constant flex and compression can damage them

    Depending on how much adjustment you have, you could give yourself more ground clearance for rock crawling and then lower it down for better center of gravity while playing in the whoops, all without affecting your suspension ride very much, if at all.


    Yeah, the airbags might wear out after a while. Just depends on how often you abuse them and how tough they are as to how long they may last.

    I have wondered about doing an airbag with a shackle kind if like the teraflex revolver shackle but without the the ability rotate. Just the pivot that would allow the bag to droop with the suspension but when at normal ride height it would be in contact and giving added springiness. You would just have to have limit straps on the airbag part to avoid over extending the bags.

    I would like to run the bags in combo with a "normal" suspension setup just to allow the ability to adjust height on the fly. In the long run I want to be running an lt center diff front end with a watts link/canti in the rear. But where most of my time is spent on highway I want to be able to keep my truck at a neutral height for streetability and less stress on my cvs and universals. But as soon as I hit the trail head I can enter crawl mode and lift it on the fly. And as far as offroadability of air bags, I guess I will just have to put some to the test...

    yea see that makes perfect sense. as long as the truck is strapped or limited to the bag's max droop (for the rear) i think it would be fine. but it's the go fast shit that would tear them up. but like you said...time to test eh?

    Ben, based in your needs, you are a perfect candidate for ORI's. I wouldn't mess with bags at all. Just do the ORI's and never look back.
