If you're still here in the Denver area and looking for cheap steel, check out K&K Surplus near I-76 and 88th. If they have the steel you're looking for in the surplus yard, it's 50 cents a pound.

    2004 thingy

Take a nice clean piece of steel, paint it black. Tie it to a rope and that rope to a truck. Proceed to drag the plate for a couple hundred miles, a saltwater puddle or two would be nice........ yep, that is about what it looks like. :D

    Not really, seriously, well.....

I've got a 3rd gen Glock 17 with tens of thousands of rounds through it that runs like the day it was new. I've even run 2 & 3 day courses w/o so much as a bore snake or drop of oil trying to get it to fail and it takes whatever I can throw at it. Only FTF I've ever had was a 3-gun competition I was running using 60+ year old surplus military ammo and the cause was the ammo, not the firearm.

To this day when I do clean that gun I pull a bore snake through it, brush the large build-up off and then a drop of oil on each of the four frame tangs and a single drop on the barrel smeared with my finger where the slide wears and that's it. People ask me why I choose a Glock to trust my life to... if a Glock can still function like it did day 1 with that kind of use/abuse then imagine how reliable a new one out of box is. I love my Glocks and there isn't one that I own that I wouldn't trust my life to. My 1911's need to be cleaned with each mag change nearly. ;)

You know the saying: Show your 1911 to your friends. Show your Glock to your enemies.

I do a few 3-gun matches out of state (Nebraska, Wyoming & New Mexico) but I haven't done anything this year and most of last year and doubt I will until at least next year at the earliest. Just too many things going on right now in my life to plan that far out plus it's pretty expensive at the moment. I have plenty of ammo stocked up but I still don't like shooting it when I see what the replacement prices are.

    3 gun nation is awesome!

On a different note I had a crazy 48 hour shift and home slept all day. I think I need sweet action ice cream now.

We run less formal 3-gun competitions back in Nebraska and usually add a twist. My buddy has got some land back there so we can do all sorts of fun things you just don't get to do 'round here. Last one we did we exchanged a longer range precision section for the shotgun piece. That was pretty fun. The last formal 3-gun I went to back in Nebraska the guy putting it on ND'd himself in the leg 5' in front of my as I was on deck watching from behind him with the R.O. next to me running the clock. After we got him stable and off to the ER everyone was kind of standing around in shock silently and I was like 'Welp, who's running the clock? My turn!' lol I was getting my money worth.
