Help me with this Browning O/U

I have an oppotunuty to buy a Citori O/U 20ga. All blued. This is what he told me:

Browning Citori O/U Field Grade I 20 Ga. shotgun for sale.

28" barrels, invector plus choke tubes, recoil pad, excellent condition. Gun has been used on doves only, about 10-12 boxes of shells have been run through it. Asking $875. Pics below...

I know nothing about O/S's but always wanted to try one. Is this a good deal or is there a better O/U option? Is there a much better O/U in that price range? School me. The only Browning I own is a 35 year old Belgium A-5 light 12ga. Love it.

 

seems like a pretty good deal to me....as long as the action/barrel are in good shape. browning makes some awesome o/u shotguns.

 

Those are $1100 & up new. I'd get it for sure. My late father-in-law left me the same gun except in 12g and it's my new favorite for sure.

 

Sounds like a good deal. You ok with 20ga or would you rather put your money towards a 12ga?

 

Do some research on the availability of the ammo.

I'm hearing lots of stories of some ammo (mostly handgun) being hard to find with lead prices & everything else. I'm not sure if the 20 gauge would be less available than a 12 gauge (for example).

 

For the most part (around Phoenix anyway), !2 & 20 shells have been plentiful. But you're right; I try not to buy any firearm that I may have a hard time finding ammo for.

I would love to have a Beretta O/U. all my Beretta's have been awesome awesome guns. I love my Benelli's too.

 

Shotgun ammo, free hulls from the range, 209 primers, and powder ( I use Red dot) are very available.

My only concern is not the deal, which seems good, but the gauge. 12gauge being the most popular and plentiful.

 

Get the 12 gauge..... you won't be disappointed.

Why wouldn't you go for a 12 gauge? Shop around at gun shops, they usually have used guns and you can find a good starter gun cheap.
