Anyone near virginia I am going to make a trip to a "ghost town" that is only accessible via 4x4. Doesn't look like much, just some chimneys and foundations left but I think it would be fun wheeling to get there

yeah Camp Edwards down in the Cape is like that, underground empty silos. Freaky.

We also have empty mountaintop empty Air Radar Base about 20 miles north of me. It helped Plattsburg AFB across the lake. Now both are history. The radar base is falling apart & Plattsburg has never been the same. :(

Site worked for me today, great site. I found airports that I remember as a little kid that have been gone for years.

I love stuff like this, even though its depressing in a way. To think that eventually everything could end up abandoned and decaying.

There is an abandoned mental hospital in Norwich Ct. that I drive by every day. Over 400 acres and probably 40 or 50 buildings. Been empty 10 years or more and it's starting to fall apart. I'll try to get some pics into TW Live next time I go by.

Wow, it's amazing how many abandoned places there are all over. For some reason it suprises me that there's as many as there are in the US. Not sure why really. :D

Anybody know of anything in Colorado?

We were talking about it in the PA thread, but it never went anywhere. Cindy and I would be up for it, once we get settled in the new house.

Long story short, I found an interesting feature on a satellite image, went exploring and wound up finding an abandoned, closed highway. Pics tomorrow

Where's that at? I grew up in MT and I've never heard of it, if it's close enough maybe I'll make a trip out of checking it out next time I'm home.

Bannack State Park in MT is a pretty cool ghost town, if a little tourist-ized. http://www.ghosttowngallery.com/htme/bannack.htm
