I would like the builds section to have a sub group of:
    1st Gen's
    2nd Gen's
    Other Builds

I was thinking that a member should have 50 posts before they can start a build thread.

    still nothing?
i just went through every build thread on the first 2 pages of Builds and every single one is a 2nd gen, yet none of them state that they are so i have to go through every one, one-by-one.

i think we should stop referring to everything prior to an 05 tacoma as a "1st gen"...

05-09 should at least be the 3rd gen depending on how you want to look at it.

not gonna wait for an answer to that one because i already know what it is but the point i was trying to make was that even though the 95-00 and 01-04 are very similar they are still different so why not designate them as such... other forums do so.

95-00 is toyota's first generation of tacomas
01-04 was their second crack at it
    05-09 is their third

so if i'm selling the grill off my "first gen tacoma"... higherlux doesn't PM me for the shipping costs

    solves problems.

I think it's a good idea. However, I don't frequent the "Builds" section enough for it to matter to me.

    bingo

there were some minor mechanical changes throughout 95-04...as there are with every vehicle out there...plus some minor body changes...but the truck as a whole stayed the same

in 05 there was a whole new redesigned truck

parts are essentially compatible from 95.5-04 and then from 05+

im down with breaking the build thread into

    95.5-04
    05-09
    Other

im also cool with requiring you have a certain # of posts...whatever that may be...before posting a buildup thread
