    if you had a stock bumper the insurance would have paid you for the repairs and the upgrade to the nice aftermarket bumper...a horrible idea

    He would have had much more damage with a stock bumper. Check my gallery for pics of what happens to stock equipment when rear-ended. At the time I had 3" of lift, and got hit by a Scion. I drove home, the Scion was totaled. The problem with stock is that the damage spreads, as it is designed to do in order to dissipate force, which almost totaled my beloved Taco.
