does anyone have pics of weld on boxed horns for front bumper? trying to figure out the best was to do it.

 

this is the best I got from when I was building mine.

looks good....did you just cut off the plate that the bolts are connected to...then just weld the horns straight to the frame?

 

yeah cut all that shit off, then cut out a rectangle piece to cap the frame, then built the horns off that.

Your shocks will be very angled with 16's and 20" travel. Best to call DMZ and see what they think. They'll probably accomadate whatever you want, but they'll recommend things because they know what they're doing

Is there any other reason to have shocks angled forward vs towards the rear? I thought I heard that angled forward helps with go fast stuff? Or is that just hearsay and myth

 

none of the above.

 

if you cycle a truck with leafs you'll notice as it droops out the axle moves forward. (closer to the cab) hence why I had to shorten my drive shaft.

 

and vice versa.

 

indeed since the front mount is stationary and rear is on a double pivot( shackle)

I figured out why I didn't have to shorten mine. My axle is really far back.
