I carry a leatherman Wave with me at work. Everyone does. If we didn't have that single tool I swear I'd go crazy... LOVE IT to death. I have many other tools for the job, but they are usually 300' below me when I need it.

Obviously multitools can't fix everything but I like having a tool on hand at all time for small jobs.

Dont get me wrong, I like the idea behind them. I just feel they are too bulky and difficult to handle sometimes.

    I have 4 leathermans and a Gerber multi-tool.

The gerber is the 'Diesel'. It's nice, but I HATE the slide feature to open it up. It's a pain in the butt.

The leatherman I keep in my truck is a 'Charge' It's a nice one with all the basic features.

I have one 'Wave' that I keep in my tool box in my garage. It's nice. It was my first one so It's like the "ol-trusty" one.

Then I have two for military use. I have a OHT in coyote brown that I keep in my assault pack. Its nice, especially the spring loaded pliers.

My baby that I LOVE, is the Leatherman MUT. Its fully designed as a multi-tool that works with the M16/M4 variant rifles. I keep this puppy in my vest. It's an amazing little tool.

I have a Gerber myself. Honestly, they're pretty much the same difference... both are great products.

I would argue with you but it would only end in the demise of view of Gerber.:D

I use my Gerber pliers so much. So easy to flick it open. Can the leatherman be opened one handed?
