What is this bilstein nonsense?

    This is what it says about the Bilstein's...so does that mean if I get the toytec coilovers I can't adjust them? And when i say them I am referring to the bilstein shocks. And how are coilovers even adjustable? Help...

    The bilsteins have notches on them to compress the coil and provide lift. Coil spacers already compress the coil. As for why you can't use them with lift coils I'm not sure.

    You can use lift coils or spacers with the 5100 above the stock setting because it preloads the springs too much and can unseat the spring perch (in theory). IDK if it's ever happened...but what you willl most likely notice is a really rough ride if you try.

    As for the Toytec coilovers- They have a threaded collar that sits on the spring perch at the stock setting. Adjust the ring where the spring sits up and down along the threaded collar and you get your adjustable lift.

    so basically what this thing is saying is If I get coil overs and install them with the bilstein shocks I cannot adjust the bilsteins or the coil overs? The statement is ambiguous, which is why I'm confused.

    No. You have to set the billies at the stock setting and then you can adjust the coilovers how ever you'd like. The coilover uses a piece that is separate from the shock to adjust.

    Oh got it got it. And the shocks already give lift right? So if I have the coilovers at the stock setting I'm getting a ~2" lift?

    No... the shocks have a collar that can be moved up and down the body of the shock. With your stock springs you can move that collar and get two inchs of lift.
    If you use aftermarket lift springs with the 5100's (for the better ride) you set the collar on the shock so it is the same length as a stock shock and the lift comes from the coil.

    The coilovers kit fro Toytec uses the coil and a threaded part to provide a variable amount of lift. So the 5100 collar will go at the stock location and the coilover collar will go on top of that.

    As Brunes already said...

    Lift coils OR spacers already have an extreme amount of force to lift your vehicle.

    The *coil seat* (where the bottom of the coil sits) is located on the shock itself. Having a lift coil OR spacer AND adjusting the 5100's higher than the stock setting - you run a risk of breaking the shock where the coil seats.
    There's just too much pressure for the shock to handle.
    That's why you'll see that warning...

    With the stock setting on the Bilsteins and the Toytec coilovers, you'll get up to 3" of lift. All it's saying is that you can't combine the two to get even more lift (e.g. you can't set 2.5" on shock plus 3" with spacers or the coilovers for a 5" lift).
