It's been a while since I did an update on this project.

As we began to assemble the front Solo kit, several things became apparent.
First of all, the Misalignment spacers were completely wrong and do not fit into the stock location as they should.

The inside is not long enough

    The outside is too long

Solo is obviously using some kind of custom towers with two bolts going through it to hold the UCA in place and they are not using the factory location. This can be seen on Solo's pic here
    b5e9e96e44e3fca4d6f6dce8c64304da_b567991ee58e237661357a64be9b27777ba6fc48.jpg

The next thing was the factory tower/coilbucket is supposed to be removed as the cross tube (where long bolt holds UCA) completely blocks the 10" Coilover springs from moving freely. This is something we were not expecting.

So we have made custom misalignment spacers and will be giving feedback to Solo as we go along.

Of course Murphy's Law struck again when we found the hubs didn't fit in the spindles. We had to machine the hub housings down a bit so they wouldn't bind.

Once we had the arms in, we started checking the cycling of the suspension

The upper arm hits the sheet metal and will need relief trimming

The next limiting factor to up-travel was the fenders and even bumper

Even with my fiberglass fenders, I still have over 4" of tire hanging past. That's a lot of impact area.

To solve the fender issue, we had two choices. Buy 6" flared fenders and trim them or go fully custom.
Of course we went custom to make sure we could fully tuck these 35s.

We started with selective sheet metal trimming & then just found more areas to remove...

There will need to be some sheet metal work in here at some point if I want to keep the engine bay sand blasting under control.

    Awesome update!

Nice to good documentation of all the work required to get this kit to fit properly for future installs etc.

True, but also I'm being a bit of a guinea pig on this one. Since we are the first non in-house install. We are finding several areas that make this less than bolt on. Hopefully they fix the issues before sending out more kits.
