I am thinking of getting a roof rack for my 2012 dclb. Are there mounts under the rubber strips on the roof?

I put one on my jeep a while back and had to drill through the sheet metal, Which i am not excited to do on my newish taco

No mud flaps, plasti dipped emblems, and rear bumper, Weather tech digital fit, Bed mat from tractor supply. Pioneer 4400BH head unit. B.A.M.F bed rail tie downs. AVS vent visors.
the OEM you don’t have to cut through the rubber, you just take it off completely.

also should not hurt MPG much it at all. unless you go custom and have off road lights that add a lot of drag.

Even more pricey is the factory rails, and the Baja rack to go on the factory rails. That's my set up and i like it. If you want a large weight capacity though, skip the oem rails. If weight isn't a huge issue, but you want to be able to remove the basket easily, go oem rails and a basket. The utility rack is legit. Front runner also had a bad ass rack that hasn't been out long. They're spendy too though.
My signature pic below is a link to my build thread with pics of my set up.

If you don't mind paying more, get the Frontrunner. It all depends on what you want to use your rack for.
