You have the same animal I have..and yes I did the Shop Vac to clean up the excess after and drain it that way. It came in handy when the pump on my washing machine croaked, drained the water out of the tub in no time.

My basement has a small slope to it on one section so it all ends up there unless I really take on a lot of water. I found the lowest spot and leave the pump there..then just fed the cord up along the rafter and tie it up there with the extension cord so it doesn't get wet. In case I need to use it just connect that plug, open the bulkhead and throw the hose out the doorway, and plug in at the washer/dryer.

One problem I don't have. Mine is so small I can't stand up under a beam. What really sucks is a vent for the heating system runs parallel to where I have to walk for the laundry as well..I've cranked my skull on that a few times in my years here.

I'm guessing my measurement from hub to fender changed almost 5 "

Satoshi'd grill. blacked out badges. aftermarket sound system. De-chromed and color matched. OME 885s + Dakars with 3rd leaf removed. LR UCAs. Scs stealth 6 with 285 duratracs. BAMF sliders
That would mean 5" of lift. I doubt its that much. If it is then you are probably maxed out with no downtravel. That would be pretty rough on you CVs. Stock measurement center of hub to bottom of fender is usually 20"-20 1/2" I'm at 23" up front and 23.5" in back.

It doesn't help you now but when we bought our house we were 25 so we were out more than home. We came home late one night after being out to atleast two inches of water in finished basement. That killed the buzz real fast. I installed a perimeter drain system and sump and no issues since. I am covered on three sides of house and sump is in garage. Two pumps in the sump, primary and back up but if both fail due to power failure ther is a 3" step from garage to basement. It would have to fill garage to flow back in

Was going to try to go this year but it didn't work out.

I was actually just starting to look for a bike when this one popped up in my price range. I knew it was exactly what I wanted, and what I was getting into. You have to appreciate the high maintenance and high priced parts on these bikes. It sucks to go on the highway too. Winding the bike out to cruse at 70. Sometimes I wish I could get a street tripple to commute and do trips with.

Just to make you a little more jealous... One last picture of the bike for now at Killington with my friend a few weeks back

You're already trying to suck me into the depths of spending money I don't have haha....

    Thanks man!!

How can they be the wrong shocks? 5100's are eye and stem, 5125's are eye and eye. If they were regular 5100's, they couldn't be installed without an adapter

And a large dose of redneck engineering.

Don't spend the money unless it's a feature you'll use, it's not worth it. The benefit of the adjustable compression damping is you can lower it for road riding, then crank the dampening up so the suspension will soak up much larger hits off road. For the type of off roading that you'll see out here, I don't think it's worth the money. There isn't that huge of a variance in the type of driving you'll see. Think of a daily driver that then goes out prerunning on the weekends.

I would have picked up the model, not crop dusted her

$1,500??? Damn, I thought you had more into it than that.

Very jealous. Unfortunately, mine has been collecting dust in the garage. I've ridden it to work a few times but traffic in Cambridge is nuts so I gave up on that. I grew up in upstate NY and really miss riding out there.

I will say this though, I really wouldn't mind trading mine for one of those Victory bikes. Those things are sweet!

If I were in the market for a cruiser, I would be looking at Victorys. HDs are way overpriced.

Also, I forgot you worked in Harvard Square. I went to school at Wentworth and my aunt lives about 15 blocks from Harvard Square. Been going there since I was a kid.

The Victory's aren't cheap either! The cheapest one they sell is $12,500 and they go up from there. The one I want is $14,500 stripped and probably another $2,000 - $2,500 in accessories. I've never been an HD fan but I do like the way they sound. The VRod is one of my favorite cruisers to look at but I don't like that riding position.

This is the bike I would love to have if I went to a cruiser, it's the Victory Judge:

Just to give you a idea . I just measured mine . Top of tire to fender and same measurement at full droop . I have just about 4" on down travel .

Granted I don't have the same coil spring as you but this is my preload
    null_zpsa05f4c11_ec33cd85c76010ad1315e65bc0f15d44e623991b.jpg

Evan my center hub to fender is 24 1/2 front and 25 in the rear .
