Playstation 4 vs Xbox One

This. In addition, if XB1 is more strict on used games and licensing, even though it may be frowned upon more by gamers, it will attract more developers and publishers. This will lead to more potential exclusive IP's. It's about the moneyz. Irrational and 2K Games spent nearly $100 Million on Bioshock Infinite. Games are getting buku expensive. They are going to gravitate to one console over another if they feel their license can be better managed (lucrative).

I read a lot of user comments on other sites and most people don't know about this. It's M$ fuck up that they now have to deal with. Morons. They just gave Sony most of their new pre-order business.

The Kinect debacle is their other problem, but at least they now have said you will be able to disable/turn it off.

The extra $100 sucks but over the lifespan of 6-8 years it's not that big of a deal to me. $50 of that extra cost is probably just paying Sony for the BluRay license Sony isn't including the "Eye" with their console ($60 extra) which XB1 comes standard with the Kinect. Xbox 360 release in 2005 was $399. People screaming over nothing really.

I've always liked the interface and experience of Xbox live over PS3's Network. I have more contacts with XBL, better content there also, and I could never really get used to the Playstation controller.

XB1 exclusives > PS4 exclusives, if you care. And at least initially, neither supports backward capability.

Not to be outdone by how ugly and bulky the XB1 is, Sony made the PS4 is even uglier.

IMO, It seems Sony built the PS4 for gamers now (2013-2015) and M$ built the XB1 for gamers/entertainment for future (2014-2019ish) *shrug*

SWTOR was fun for like a week, lol. D3 was a let down and not as good as D2, SC2 is overrun by Koreans so I can't play.. lol. I've been stuck on LoL for a while now, and quit then go back to it. Going to try Marvel tonight to see what's up, created by the maker of D2 with D2 in mind.. Should be interesting.

 

Required internet connection and no used games is a deal breaker for me. It really sucks because I love my 360 but I'm out in the sticks and can only get dial up, well satalite high speed is available but just too damn expensive. So I guess I'll be converting to ps4. This is a huge mistake by Microsoft, I know a lot of hard core gamers that are in the same boat as me.

 

It requires a short authentication ONCE every 24 hours. If a player's internet connection is out for 24 hours or more you have bigger problems. I would bet the percentage of gamers who play with an internet outage that lasts more than 24 is hours is very small.

And on that last sentence, PS4 is doing the same thing. Optional.



It's interesting to hear the reaction of console players when PC gamers have been in this (licensing/online connection) realm for years. *shrug*

 

I have always bought the console at the redesign in 3 years. That way all the good games are out and I wont spend a fortune on the newer system. As long as Assassin Creed 4 comes out for the PS3 I could care less.

 

M$ getting rid of people with shotty internet connection is kind of a Godsend to gamers. No more lag or time-outs due to switching hosts.

I play more story modes and single player than I ever had since i've been deploying. I cant connect to the internet on my console all the time. Most of the free time we get is when there is weather, and guess what thats usually when the internet is out.

Xbox lost the entire military/deployed civilians.

 

Again, a big fuck you to all the soldiers deployed.

PC. Mouse is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better for aiming.
I still have an xbox so I can play with my friends that dont have pc's (whiners ) and I can still play some exclusive titles. I used to have the trifecta (xbox ps3 pc) but I sold my ps3.

oh and another plus for the PS4 you can save $100. and when you play and use a system as little as i do, thats a pretty big plus. right now every time i turn the ps3 on i have to do updates, because i turn it on like 2 times a month.

 

I just thought of something. This might be a good reason. With Xbox going Blu-ray, it would make it easier for people to copy games since Blu-ray trumped HD-DVD years ago. Blu-ray burners are pretty inexpensive now to buy and have always been easier to find compared to HD-DVD since HD-DVD wasn't around for very long. Just my thoughts.

 

Copying games won't be easy though. Every time someone finds an exploit to play copies, the next update usually renders the exploit useless. Or you don't update and can't access the network. Since the XB1 will render your legit copies unless if not verified in 24 hours, copies are gonna be impossible, or not worth the hassle.
