Oh I'm sure it'll be scary. I'm not down playing the seriousness of this road. I'm just saying I'm feelin good about it. I'm so proud of the places I've gone, the things I've seen and the people I've met simply because I bought that little 4x4 taco. This one will top the list for most epic adventure, and Moab tops the most technical.

Honestly one of the hardest obstacles of the whole trip, was the hard line through a climb on metal masher and Aleks spotted me through the 2nd half of the obstacle ( I think the harder part). Aleks lol! It was really just us, the rest of em were getting other rigs up. He has far less seat time than i and the extent of his spotting is learning from Ben last year and this year and this year and a couple small trips. And yet somehow we got my truck up this thing we had to strap bens 4runner up. Quite proud of the 2 of us haha!

So is Brady still unconfirmed for the trip?

also monte, have you talked to the xo guys at all? im thinking about messaging them and seeing if they have any tips or pics of the hardest turns to share

Yea I don't think Brady is set in stone.

And idk man..this will be epic no dou t..but I actually think this will be one if the most technical thing you'll ever do. 20+ hair pin turns that'll be like 10 point turns. Gonna be a long day or back up..turn..forward..back up..turn..forward haha all in a fucking cliff.

    I'm SO EXCITED!!! :goingcrazy:

We will have a blast man.

k well there is a difference in "technical" then. this is just tight lol. not quite technical like rock crawling.

Well considering you will have like inches to play with on the side if your truck and when turning...yea I'd call it pretty damn technical..the amount if error in this road is gonna be very minimal in most places. And..you will die if you go over..hands down no saving you at all. Haha

So..ya technical in a lot if ways IMO..

i totally get that. thats why i have no thoughts of backing out. it's all or nothing haha. makes no difference if you fuck up, because if you fuck you most likley die. so fucking up simply is not an option haha. and yes monte i know exactly what you are saying. it is very technical and tight. spotting galore!!!

There won't be a hospital. You'll just be dead. Period. It's that steep and bad.

If my truck goes..you can go take any parts off it you want. Then leave me for the gov to clean up haha

    But ya..very serious trail..

I STILL hold fast that if the XO guys drug a fucking trailer through it and didnt die we will be fine if we take it slow and careful.

No one is planning on it..my track record ain't so hot tho...

Honestly if anything bad happens. It'll be that which if we are careful wont happen. And lander someone could maybe break so,ething if hit hard enough and wrong enough..but I don't think anyone will be that..well..dumb haha should be good.

    Agreed.

Lots of spotting. One corner at a time. The trick part is there are a couple places where multiple rigs will be at corners.

now to catch up... :typing: ahem...
Yes. No fun allowed at these meets. All very serious.
Actually the only time I've had to go completely :angrygirl: was when a couple of guys decided to run off the trail. Not cool.

Be nice or no cookies.

Yes, my cookies are a tradition at meets.

that's better. you get a cookie

:yay: I won't be the only girl on the trip!

I don't HAVE to do anything.:p You be nice or you no get cookie!

I will bring special cookies ;) ...not to be confused with special brownies

and I think the upper part of morrison and goose lake will be plenty rocky to make you and I both a little nervous.

    no cookies

    lots o' pictures for sure

if gravel scares you how do you feel about rocks?

Nope, Ben and Mike are taking their rigs and joining up with us...gotta figure out the details yet.
and note to me? after Monday Monte is in charge. So you have to head for home on Tuesday? Or will you be able to stay with us and leave on Wednesday? I confused...

It will just be you and I on Saturday and then Mike and Ben will catch up on Sunday

I can spot too! I got Adam home with only minor dents in his skid plate...not bad for a 1st timer.

I'm trying to figure out a plan so we can have a set meeting point.

Nobody tells me anything either....I didn't know until last night that Mike and Ben were tagging along.
While I'm thinking of it too... I know that we can't talk to you but at least you could talk to us if you had a radio. I know Monte has a spare handheld, if you could pick that up before leaving to meet with me it would help out I'm sure.

Monte seems to think we need babysitters.

There is cell service in a couple of spots so if you called or texted me with your whereabouts from say Red Lodge I MIGHT get the message.

I'll work on a plan with you and Ben and get things settled before long.

I recommend going over the Beartooth, plus you might end up catching up to us along the way...depends on how slow Jon and I are moving

Good luck with that, they are on their way to AK as we speak...

Since when?!?!? :quickdraw: I don't remember inviting you!

Well if you have to be home on Tuesday night then you might miss out on some or all of Goose Lake. That all depends on how long it takes Monte's crew to get up the switchbacks and if we start Goose on Monday or if we camp out on the Morrison.

And for the radio I just thought it would come in handy if you wanted one of us to spot for you...you could at least jump on the radio and ask us for help. That or you can honk your horn in morse code to get our attention :notsure:

Might have to scrap Wednesday and just do it. Might just play it by ear and notify my boss ahead of time. I'm sure I can work other days instead anyway. I'm racking up comp time like crazy right now.

Ahhh, that, for spotting, I didn't think of that! This will be my first wheeling trip where I will have the luxury of having people spot for me lol. Never had that before! Good thinking, Lisa!
