That's a start but do it again and you will not be sore as much. Be sure your diet supports your workout. Nothing worse than not eating what your body needs so it takes away the muscle that you are trying to grow. Lean protein, good fats, fiber, and the right amount of carbs will help.

When I was going to the gym, I ate a lot. I still lost weight. I did Cardio and weights. Tex is right, gotta feed the body or it will eat the muscle away.

Of course my point is now void, since I haven't been to the gym in a couple years.

How about a protein shake. Too much effort to watch what I eat. Lol

mine is retarded fast as well. But I have managed to put on 8lbs of muscule in the last 2 months or so. I just changed what I ate. No more sweets from the vending machine and no more frozen breakfast burritos.

I went from 142 to about 150-152 depending on the day. Im 5'11".
Keep your meals simple, chicken breast, fish, veggies, brown rice and oatmeal, fruits.

those are good too. I take protein after my workout and before bed. But shakes do not replace meals.

I left high school at 5'10" and 150 lbs. I left the Corps at 6'0" and 210 lbs; but currently I average between 235 and 240.

While I doubt the "no homo" part; I'll see what I can find.

I had been in about a year at the point this pic was taken and I had put on about 20 lbs to come up to 160ish.

This was taken about 10 months before I got out over in the Philippines. I'm the white guy on the far left.

Anyone who has seen me in the last couple of years can tell you I am heavier than those pics now; but by looks alone not much more. Most people guess my weight about 20-40 lbs light.

Yup, this. I lost 30 lbs from Sept. through Nov. last year eating lean foods. The best part about it while I was doing it, my body felt like a million bucks. I have always played soccer and done cardio, never felt sore but always ache and what not. While I was doing the dieting, I felt great even after a workout (I hate to use that word because I still ate a lot, just made sure it was something low cal which in turn naturally would be low fat, low sugar, and high on all the good stuff). Then I started school the first of the year didn't have time for working out, and at the same time celebrated my loss with food! I actually haven't put on any more weight since, but I look more pudgy and flabby, not lean anymore. I keep trying to get back on track but the start is the hardest.

I definitely recommend a calorie counting app., but don't eat crap and be at your goal for the day because you ate a Snickers and 2 hot dogs. The app. will help you see exactly what is in everything you eat. You can still eat plenty of food and not starve your body, just cutting out the crap.
