I'm surprised they complained about a $500 fix for something they obviously damaged. $500 is nothing to the dealers in order to save a deal. Couldn't you order one from another dealership and just have it delivered to your home?

    You think you're surprised :)?

Imagine standing there in front of this almost yours vehicle going, ummm.. it looks like you guys fucked up the clearcoat, didn't tell me, tried to pass it off, when I complained you try to cover it cheaply "fluff and buff", leaving some marks still plainly visible, you need to fix this... Only to be told, "well Toyota won't authorize that.. we aren't going to spend 500$ to get this sanded out properly, sorry".

And then having to swallow down the rage and look them in the eye and say, well thats fine. I'm walking away from this guys, sorry. After waiting since April for it to arrive.

I'll post whatever response I get from Chris Walker the sales manager at 1000 Islands Toyota http://www.1000islandstoyota.com/ in Brockville. He is the son of the owner I believe.

He asked me to give him 24h to let him drive out to see the vehicle and see what he could do for me, if anything. I told him I would do him that courtesy. I believe that gives him until about 3pm/15h Eastern to respond.

But given how it has gone so far, my hopes are pretty low, and I am assuming that we will be shopping elsewhere. I was all set for a road trip on the Canada Day weekend to visit the folks in our new truck with the baby.

Huh. They have a "chat now" function. I think we should all go on there and ask them why won't they do you right. LOL

I would walk away from this truck and start over, obviously the dealership isn't interested in a satisfied customer.

I agree but as a man of my word I will give the fellow the 24h he asked for. And I will listen to what he has to say. But unless its good, I'm hitting Toyota dealerships this weekend.

Wow man, those scratches are terrible for a new truck.... I agree with everyone saying to walk away from that. Unbelievable they wouldn't spend 500 to fix their fuck up on a 50k truck.

Sorry for your troubles man, hopefully you can get what you want soon.

Damn, that is 1% of the purchase price that they are not willing to pay to correct an issue they created. I would tell them to F off and die before giving them the time of day. Hell most rebates are bigger than that and even if they do spring for the fix, they still screwed up the truck and tried to pass it off. Talk about stealerships!

    Wow

That thing has scratches worse than my '06 with 7 years of Kansas weather behind her. I'd plan on shopping elsewhere. $50k is no drop, for that price it should be smoother than a newborns butt!

The Trail Team sport includes the TRD catback, skid plate, runners and roof rack. And stickers and a wallet :). The Trail Team offroad gets different optiins.
