Yessir, not out of wood though. HDPE for me. Found a sheet thats 54 1/2 accross so it'll fit perfect the width of the bed. Just going to cut it to length and do something like this:

    null_zps452fd341_d36d9ffe2014e24034c3122bfe98f208cf8fa3e6.jpg
    null_zpsdc902aca_4eb0da582f60f4940b5614e95dfebb99bf2f2790.jpg

Drawers sown the middle section, bottle storage in the corners for propane, fire extinguisher, and maybe a bottle of air. We'll see. Haven't totally solidified my OBA system yet

Standard 3/4" plywood is 23/32" thick

It's actually an imperial approximation of a metric measurement , but that's a different thread

I had thought of that too. My Idea was to just drill 4 holes in the bed and put a plate under the bed in that area. Attached to the top I could put another set of D-Rings or another locking or tie-down system to secure it to.

Realistically though, the amount of the system still in the truck sitting in the bed and tailgate should be enough counter weight to support it without any additional support. Especially if I did one similar to the table pullout. Then you have supporting legs holding up one end effectively providing enough support for the rest of the unit.

I stuffed her full of sodas and juice packs for a party tomorrow. Decided I would run her in the house a couple days in fridge mode to see how it goes first til I decide mounting options.. All this weather put a damper on my fishing.\\

    Some Observations on it already.

There is a spot at the top where it appears the LED light would go. A simple 2 screws would be removed and a LED light with lenze would screw in its place.

Was brain storming and thought that maybe this model was the same as the Dual Zone version. Difference being the DZ one would have a divider and a Light. Also being this was 85 and the dz being 62 could be the difference.

I will do my research on her in that aspect later.

The smell that was mentioned before. Yeah, I smell it too. I believe it is just the new appliance smell though. It has diminished since I have had her plugged in 16hrs.

The seal on it is nice and strong. Heat is not bad either. I put my hand in front of the vents and do not even notice a difference.

Sorry, meant the weight of the fridge, cabinet, rollers, etc. As a whole fixture, I was calling that a "system"

I get that , maybe I'm just not envisioning the same thing as you .

I was thinking that the fridge would be in a pull out that when collapsed is fully in the bed allowing the tailgate to close , and when fully open exposes the entire fridge forward of the tailgate

From all the pics I have seen, The fridge only comes out to one full length at max from where the base is mounted. So if the base is 28", it would only come out to a max of 28" from the end of bed. A good portion of that sitting on the tailgate. Anything additional would be another set of slides and offset weight by the fridge and base.

The JEEP versions do not use a tailgate.

Am I making sense or am I confused as to the length and how these actually operate?

See in these 2 pictures? One sitting on the tailgate and the other not.

The additional drawers or tables under the fridge wouldnot be affected by the weight issue since a loaded fridge sitting on the tailgate would act like a counter weight - think crane.

I see what you are saying , I was thinking the slide would not be resting directly on the tailgate

From what I gather, that is the way they are designed.

They are designed to sit on the tailgate ?

Not specifically, no. THe base plate is designed to be permanently mounted. So that is where the weight is suposed to be. However, most of the people that are making the custom ones for their vehicles are making them removeable and able to sit on tailgates since we people lucky enough to have tailgates are able to support additional weight there. \\\
