She's gonna rub. IMO moreso because of the 33" diameter than the 10" width.

 

I think it would look awesome! Not sure about clearance issues though... You might end up having to trim a bit, that's a true 33" tire.

I've been itching to get back to a 265/70R17, I might take the plunge this summer.

 

I dont mind trimming, I just dont want to trim (cut) to crazy

 

Think of all the worthwhile mods you could do if you all stopped buying new tires every other day!

True, true. At 2" of lift I personally wouldn't go much over a true 32". I'm pushing 3" now and I won't go over a true 32".

I think you're confusing me with Miguel. I've only purchased new tires when the old ones wore out. Only exception was my Coopers, they were awful so I sold them off. Right now I'm running stock takeoffs I bought off another member. The take-offs won't be a great winter tire so I'd put some A/T's on my other wheels.

 

I know, 32" seems to be the safe max if you're going to do any wheeling and want to minimize rub.

Why do you say that? I think the skinnier tires handle better than the fatter tires. My 265's wander more than the stock 245's in my opinion. Also, the skinny tires will do just as well off road when aired down.

 

LOL, the skinny part of the tire is fine, it's the true 33" part that is going to pose a problem.

 

Ah... gotcha. They'd look great going in a straight line though

 

He's 28 right now, out of RI. Top of my head he's done Iraq times 2, Afghanistan, Kuwait. Not sure of the order..and yes he is the stereotypical one who goes in needing some discipline and it totally makes him grow up.

 

Mike drive my truck. It doesn't wander at all with the 285's.

 

I don't know what my problem could be. The H/T's are much better than the old Coopers but I still feel the truck try to follow ruts in the road. On a straight stretch, I finally am to the point where I can let go and the truck will track straight.

 

I'll bite... Sometimes I get a little pull w/ my 275s when dealing with ruts, etc.
