None yet but soon all black.
Question for you experts here on tw lol.

Would you go with a old man emu leaf pack that gives 2 and half in lift in the rear or go with the all pro leaf pack that gives 3 inches in the back. There both the same price with shipping but idk what to choose. It seems like the all pros wont sag as much as the ome ones with a load. I kind of want to stick with 2.5 to 3 inches in back and stay at 2.5 up front so I wont need ucas.

    OME.

I dont know about that, does the all-pro packs have overloads? With second gens i think its the other way around. I have heard all pro standards flex better and they have no overloads. Dakars have 2 overloads and don't sag much more after an inch or two.

I dont know if they do. This is what all pro says. I just hate deciding you know. I heard on threads that after awhile the ome sag and that the all pros dont. But that is just what people are saying you know.

    • A higher number of thinner leaves provides a smoother, progressive spring rate compared to fewer, thicker leaves
    • Double "military" wrap provides extra strength for the main leaf
    • "Torque Leaf", an extra half-leaf at the top of the spring pack, increases anti-wrap properties without hindering travel or ride quality
    • Diamond-cut leaf ends to eliminate stress points which may weaken leafs and lead to premature failure
    • Teflon anti-friction pads between leafs provide smoother flex, lessen spring wear and reduce noise
    • Leafs are shot-peened after forming to relieve stress
    • Every completed spring pack is pre-cycled to their travel extremity for quality control and to reduce the likelihood of initial sag
    • Comprehensive 12-month warranty for non-racing applications when properly installed
    All-Pro Standard Duty Leaf Springs
Our '98-'04 Tacoma rear leaf springs are factory length. These springs have a special torque leaf to reduce axle wrap. Springs come with new poly bushings and sleeves. Mounting our springs on 95-97 Tacoma's will require new 2" forward (hole to hole) from stock, and the moved back 1". All-Pro's Standard Duty leaf springs are NOT designed for heavy weight carrying capability. They are designed for ride quality and flex. For those carrying heavier loads such as rigs fully loaded for long-term expeditions, we offer the NEW All-Pro "Expedition" Heavy Duty rear springs (see below).

Says right there that they are not meant for heavy loads. Dakars will hold up to alot more weight. So if your talking about hauling your quad, like a few hundred pounds, either leaf pack will be fine. If you talking about 1000 + lbs then your ganna want dakars, or the expos, and those will give you alot more lift and be very stiff, expos are meant for trucks with constant loads

Speaking of rear suspensions, i need to do some work on mine. The dakars are starting to rust more than i want to see. But the main reason is vibrations, they are getting worse and they are really getting to me. I ordered a digital angle finder in hopes that i can get the perfect angle shim under leafs to help correct the driveline angles. Maybe ill try dropping the CB a little bit also, but the OME CB drop is to thick. So i want to clean and paint/protect the leafs and hopefully figure out the vibes. Then someday ill MT the rear

As some of you guys know im not much of a gear head so i am lacking some basic knowledge. Anything i should look for, or do with the CB, U-joints, or any of the driveline as preventive maintenance, especially since i have been driving around with vibrations, im worried about accelerated wear and tear because of the vibes.

Never heard of the Dakars sagging THAT much over time. Any spring will settle some but the Dakars are specifically made to hold up loads off road.

Make sure you don't have any play across the u-joints and grease everything. Check the play in the carrier bearing, that is likely your problem. Either the carrier bearing or the rear transmission mount being too soft. I've been driving with vibes for a while, don't worry about it :D

Well thanks for the help evan:). I think I will just go with darkars then. If I went with all pro leaf pack then I would need to go with billes all around and my lift would be 3 inches when I only want 2.5. So I think ome is what I'll get. Thanks again

No problem, did you take a ride in Daves truck yet? I think he got the all pros. They probably flex better offroad than the dakars.

no its not. its literally the thickness of like 1.5 washers....

anyways just put a washer between the CB and mount to drop it down, go for a ride, if its not fixed put another one under it and go for a ride.... repeat until vibes are at a minimum, or get a TW DS made at $500, to MAYBE fix the problem.... youre going to drive yourself nuts chasing vibes, you drive a lifted truck :notsure:

Evan, I'm not lifted as much as you but flipping my carrier bearing actually helped a bit for me.

Makes sense, especially since it is progressively getting worse. just need a grease gun and find the zerks for the u-joints right? Im guessing there is a certain type of grease i should use.

A slew of pricey stuff my wife hates me for.
    I use high-temp bearing grease.
